Leanified is a simple yet addictive photo editing app that allows for quick and expressive art pieces and collages. The app's content and visual design are inspired by a cultural mashup of cloudrap, vaporwave, and internet art influences.
Take various forms of music subculture, internet symbols, non western characters and marry them on top of a digital art canvas. Leanified is the easiest and most fun tool for creating digital art, designing a mixtape cover, and making fire photo edits.
The app was created out of pure inspiration - to give fine culturists and the general public an easy and accessible tool to make the dankest trill memes, emotionally saddest art, and give life to the internet charm of the day.
Currently, the app is only available in the Apple store, and due to HIGH demand we would like to offer the app on the Google play store. We are partnering with some of the sickest internet artists, developers, and musicians to help bring this to life, shedding a little light on some of the most lit art and music culture that exists in the process.
We built in features that we felt were unique.
- For example "Reflect" would help the user attain the aesthetic style
- easy search for web images.

The Leanified Family
We could not have made the app without the help of the Leanified community. The people we call 'Fam' are the artists that hashtag #Leanified, who happen to be a super active and engaging user base. The app was really for them. Over 10,000 images and counting. We have tried several times and failed to work on an Android build, they continue to stick with us.
Leanified was an experiment in crowd driven development. Each design choice, feature and even monetization strategy was crowd built by interacting with the community on social media. Surveys, feedback, and decisions were made all via social networking, and an organic growth in the community occurred. We decided to build it, and we harnessed the power of social feedback and engagement.
The decision to build an Android version of Leanified can be attributed to the overwhelming amount of comments and feedback on social networks from fans of the app who could not use it. Leanified users ages range from 12 - 60, but typically find that louder more outspoken audience members are younger Android users.
To keep it 100, Leanified has a large following who constantly ask for the app on Android devices daily. We want to bring it to the Android platform along with our biggest update yet. The Android version will come with a completely new interface, updated icons, WAAAAAY more image packs, and just an all out new experience for the people that have been with us from the start. We also see this as a great learning opportunity for anyone who has never heard of the app, the music, the art or the culture surrounding it.
I'm excited to finally get this Kickstarter out, we've worked hard to make it happen. When we first started working on Leanified, I never thought we would take it this far. I've had a great time working on Leanified, and look forward to working on the next.
Yung AppSmith from Los Angeles. I put a lot of love into the Leanified app. I've learned a lot connecting with our community, and its been rewarding being able to build something people enjoy. I can't wait to get the next build out there for people to use.
Caleb Hall aka Premature Goon:
I am a musician who creates many different genres of music. Months before Leanified was on the App Store I was a follower and once I got ahold of it I began sharing my ideas on how we could improve the app, and was added to the team.
Working with the team has been a great experience for me and I wouldn’t hesitate to say that we have all become a small fam. I love to make very aesthetic images with it and it’s fun. It’s an experience to see a boring image turn into something special.
I want to live in a world that has a 90’s aesthetic but includes free wifi and iPhones.
“Leanified to me, is very rebellious. It really goes against what most people would consider beautiful. But that's the great part about it, there's this community of people who have connected through leanified, by creating art that only few can understand and appreciate. If you look past the Japanese text and Fiji water, you will find a lot of heart and soul… or maybe just sad boys and emotional shawtys.”
I'm highly influenced by rap music and the various subgenres under it. I was always looking for something different to inspire me. This lead to me finding a video on YouTube by Yung Lean called Kyoto, then discovering the "emotional" art form associated with his music.
Months after this, the app dropped and it was amazing. Everything I expected. Following the release, Instagram blew up with artwork made with the Leanified app and it was great.

Leanified is an application that has fit into my daily routine as a net artist and curator. Leanified has grown into a culture of its own emcompassing net art, vaporwave, and other internet subcultures which intersect on Leanified's platform. By launching on Android and expanding to more users Leanified gets a chance to fulfill some of its potential as a democratic platform which has given tens of thousands of users the chance to take their digital ideas to a mobile reality in seconds.

Risks and challenges
Depending on the speed of the development team, both apps should be built and developed on a standard 6 week development timeline. The dev team will be full time on the project, and will give frequent updates on progress.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
