This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thu, April 11 2019 1:40 PM UTC +00:00.
Leafpost is working within the full extent and respect of all local regulations and laws regarding cannabis, which remains a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Leafpost is committed to serving the legal cannabis industry, ensuring its residents are compliant with respect to all local laws applicable to cannabis within the UK.
Leafpost is an ancillary business - no cannabis will be grown, processed, sold or consumed on the premises. Residents will need to sign an agreement as part of their contract with Leafpost confirming their commitment to remaining compliant. Failure to comply would result in a termination of contract.
Leafpost - Cannabis Co-Working, Incubator & Accelerator
Leafpost will be the central hub for the cannabis industry in London, offering a green co-working space giving residents a better work and life balance through providing an exceptional space. A thoughtfully designed workspace that will cater to every need of a successful entrepreneur or business within this thriving market.
Further to co-working, an incubation and acceleration programme will be developed to support the most exciting projects looking to enter the cannabis industry.
We believe the key to Leafpost being a success is to build a strong, resilient network of cannabis professionals who are deeply committed to the industry and are willing to take the time to form honest and transparent relationships with those they work with and for.
Our team are passionate about advocating and supporting the continued tide of changing perceptions and regulations when it comes to all aspects of the cannabis plant. A plant that has tremendous potential in healing humans and the environment. Leafpost exists to support and nurture businesses of all sizes that are pioneering this exciting industry.

Our aim is for Leafpost to open its doors to the public in November 2019. We’ve partnered with consultants and interior designers to help realise the project vision within budget and timeline.
What will your funds be used for?
Our fundraising goal of £15,000 will contribute towards optimising the air and light quality throughout the workspace. We've identified these factors as key to maintaining the wellbeing and productivity of our residents.
Any remaining funds will be put towards procuring awesome plants, trees and sustainable furniture for the workspace.

Regulation Compliance FAQ:
Isn't cannabis illegal in the UK?
Cannabis remains a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. However, on 1st November the Home Office announced the medical cannabis is legal in the UK. This means that patients can access medical cannabis prescribed from specialist doctors.
Furthermore, there are a variety of cannabis derived products that are legal when meeting certain conditions. For example, hemp can be grown in the UK with the appropriate agricultural hemp licence. This can then be harvested, processed and turned into construction material (hempcrete), clothing and much more. There's also a growing CBD market in the UK, which is legal when meeting certain conditions.
Leafpost is here to support the endeavours of companies that are committed to working in compliance with the law. We support engagement with policy figures and public figures in the continued development of drug policy.
How will you ensure your residents are compliant?
Residents signing up for Leafpost will need to adequately demonstrate compliance before being accepted as a resident. Applications will be screened and a copy of all/any necessary licences to operate will need to be provided to Leafpost before the application can be approved. In certain high risk endeavours, a follow up meeting may be needed to ascertain compliance.
We appreciate that the regulatory landscape is still evolving, presenting a unique challenge to companies working within the cannabis space. Leafpost have access to legal counsel that specialise in the UK cannabis industry, so are able to provide access to resources and advice when it comes to managing the regulatory landscape. Leafpost will transmit news of any changes in compliance out to all Residents and offer help and support in preparing our residents for any upcoming changes in law.
Due to this slightly fluid nature of regulations as they continue to evolve, residents will be required to reaffirm their status as a compliant and legal company every 6 - 12 months.
Risks and challenges
Risk #1 - Budget & Timescale
Like any major project, delivering an end result within a specified timeline and budget can have its challenges when unforeseen events occur. In order to best mitigate this risk, Leafpost is working with leading experts in commercial real estate and interior design. Leveraging our partners experience and insight is key in limiting our exposure to risk.
Risk #2 - Raising Investment
We’ve a bold vision for Leafpost, and it’s going to require a serious amount of funding. All of the costings, budgeting and projected revenues have been modelled and there are a range of investment options currently under consideration. We feel confident that adequate investment will be secured to proceed with the project.
Risk #3 - Uncertain Regulatory Environment
We understand that we are operating in a country with a uncertain and fluid regulatory environment. Leafpost is committed to moving the industry forward responsibly and within the confines of all local laws under which we operate. In the event of a step backwards in regulations upon the cannabis industry, our contingency would be to open up Leafpost to companies involved in sustainable and eco-conscious endeavours.
