Are you always looking for new and creative ways to communicate meaningfully with the people you love? Tiny mail is for you!
Everyone seems to love tiny mail -- from friends and lovers to kiddos and grandmothers. It's a double delight. Tiny mail is a joy to send and a joy to receive. Whether you love them because they're cute, hilarious, absurd, or the perfect size for the tooth fairy of your household, MAGIC is a guarantee.
Special Editions! A Rubber Stamp Set!
This Kickstarter project is to launch a series of Special Edition stationery kits, each with a theme and unique components, as well as a fantastic tiny postal rubber stamp set. Scroll down to see exactly what's inside each Special Edition kit.
A few years ago, here on Kickstarter we funded the first production run of our regular DIY tiny mail kit, letting tiny mail lovers everywhere craft their own mini missives at home with all of the exquisite materials that we use in our own workshop. Our tiny dream was a big success, and we want to bring you more tiny mail fun.
Lea started the World's Smallest Post Service in 2008 when she set up her tiny post office around town and transcribed miniature letters for passersby. Here's what her tiny post office looks like:
Since then, we've sent tens of thousands of custom tiny letters and packages for folks through our online service. We have very happy customers who return to us again and again.
The New Rubber Stamp Set!
Our shiny new rubber stamp set is designed for use with any and all of our stationery kits. It includes 8 unique postal stamps so you can add the perfect final touch to your tiny envelopes and packages. The stamps are mounted on beautiful USA-made wooden handles. Mini red and black ink pads are included.
The New Kits: What's included in each one?
All the kits include plenty of supplies to make 24 tiny letters/cards and 6 tiny packages. (The one exception is the PenPal kit, see below!) The 005 Micron pen -- with its super fine tip -- will let you write WAY TINIER than you ever imagined! Each kit also includes a tiny paper make-it-yourself mailbox. The PenPal set includes 2 tiny mailboxes! (Important: put your tiny mail in larger envelopes/mailers to send in the real post!)
Special Edition: TOOTH FAIRY
Special Edition: YOURS TRULY
Special Edition: PEN PALS
Special Edition: HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Special Edition: SEASON'S GREETINGS
Revised Edition: THE ORIGINAL KIT
Fun Extras: Mini Mailbox & Tiny Newspaper
To the right, you'll see lots of different options. Essentially, you get to choose how many kits you want, and whether you also want one or more rubber stamp sets to go with those kits. (If you're buying kits as gifts, you might want a stamp set to go with each one!) Later on, if our project is successful, we'll send you a backer survey in which you'll specify how many of each edition you want. You can decide later if you like.
Making tiny mail is fun and easy!
Made in the USA: Oakland, California
With your help, the kits will be printed in the USA and assembled in our Oakland, CA workshop. This is NOT typical for this type of product as there is a lot of handwork involved. But we think it's best to make things locally whenever possible. We're grateful and excited to be giving it a go here in the US.
Why do we need your support?
It costs more to manufacture in the USA, but we believe in it. In order to keep the kits' components costs down, we need to purchase them in very large batches for the per-piece price to be reasonable, in turn allowing a reasonable price to our customers. For example, the ideal scale print run for the kit stationery will produce 200,000 tiny envelopes and cost about $10,000 dollars. We're hoping this Kickstarter will put this print run within reach! We're a little company, so we need your support to do it!

Risks and challenges
We've had multiple successful Kickstarter projects in the past decade (100% successful!) and we run a thriving workshop in Oakland, California. We can do this! And we love doing this. Lea has a decade of experience designing gift objects and stationery goods, and she's already rocked the prototypes for these new Special Edition kits. We've sourced the components, run numbers to be sure all the pricing will work out, and we know exactly what's involved -- diverse suppliers, complicated lead-times, human errors, rising shipping costs, etc. The trickiest part of this project is really just getting enough support to fund the huge print run of tiny envelopes. Let's make it happen together!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
