Box Update + PAX Pickup Update

Posted by Lay Waste Games LLC (Creator)

Hello metallurgists!

First, surveys have been sent. If you have not received your survey, go here to have it sent again. Now onto the fun stuff!

Since going into production, we noticed that the steel boxes were not looking exactly the way we wanted. The steel box didn’t fit together properly and the stamping wasn’t working as expected. Not the type of quality you would expect from Jordan and Lay Waste Games. AND WE WON'T STAND FOR THAT!

We always had the option of aluminum, but originally didn't go with it due to a very high cost. However, thanks to the amazing folks at Panda (looking at you Joe Wiggins!), we managed to make it work and now all copies of METAL will come in an amazingly precise aluminum box! The box is cast and laser etched in aluminum, allowing for a precision perfect solution. Check out this video to see for yourselves!

We are still not sure if this is going to be doable, and should know more in about a week. Coming down to the wire! But if it is, you will be able to swing by the Lay Waste booth to grab your copy, plus two free pins to make up for the shipping cost. One Pinny Arcade pin of your choice from Lay Waste, and one pin from Jordan as well. Stay tuned for updates!

For those not going to PAX, if PAX pickup happen, we will be air shipping your games from China to get them into your hands as fast as possible! The reason we are able to get you them this early via air shipping is because we are selling them at PAX East to balance out the added cost. We did this before with Dragoon and it worked out very well. Estimated time table is a few weeks after PAX for US delivery, and a bit longer for non-US, as the fulfillment center needs time to receive and dispatch all games. Once we have more solid details, we will send out another update.

Thank you all!

But first...SURVEYS!

Hello metallurgists!

After entering 2019, our fires have been burning bright, and production is about to begin for METAL! But first, we need to do surveys. And we are doing this quick, so please make sure you fill yours out ASAP.

  •  TODAY: A small amount of backers will be receiving their surveys today so we can test the BackerKit system, making sure there are no issues.
  •  TOMORROW: All remaining backers will receive their surveys.

We will be in touch with more dates for locking of addresses and charging of cards. But for now, stay tuned. A few quick notes on METAL:

  • Shipping increased by $1-2 based on your location due to increased shipping rates in the new year.
  • We are still working out details, but the box for METAL may be aluminum instead of steel. The steel samples we received simply lacked the depth of detail and refinement required. The upside here is an aluminum box would be of much higher quality, allowing for more details. YAY!

As always, if you have any questions, please let us know!

THANK YOU! Now the fun begins!

Thank you to each and every metallurgist who backed METAL!!! You are now part of something truly unique and we cannot wait to fire up the...umm...fires. Literally!

Once we get into the new year, we will send out links to BackerKit (our pledge manager) and provide lots of updates as METAL is made. Until then, feel free to ask us questions or make requests around what you want to see in the pledge manager.

And again, thank you all so much!

Hello Metallurgists!

We have unlocked the Gold Mallet! This makes us so so happy! METAL is almost everything we had hoped it would be...except for those pesky unique ball finishes. The team has been discussing what is best for backers and for the game, and we have decided to do this.

Ultimately, the team wants METAL to be the best it can be, and we are comfortable spending more than originally planned to ensure your game is perfect. Now all backers will be getting the game for $35 ($5 off MSRP), complete with the Golden Mallet and Unique Ball Finishes no matter where the campaign lands.

Spread the word online and let's get METAL into more hands! Mainly so everyone can get stronger by lifting the game.

MALLET CLOSER NOW! + Walkthrough video

Posted by Lay Waste Games LLC (Creator)

Hello Metallurgists!

We have made a very important decision about a very tiny object. The mallet will now unlock at $25k!

We took a close look at METAL both with and without the mallet, and determined the game is better with it in the long run. So now we are insanely close to getting it! But we need your help. Use the image and links below to spread the word of METAL far and wide.

You can also share this URL in other places. It redirects directly to the Kickstarter page.

With your help in this final push, we can make METAL the best it can be...and the heaviest it can be!

Want to see METAL in action? Now you can! Jordan and Jon from Lay Waste setup shop in the Boston Apple Store (on their floor!) to make a video for everyone. Give it a look!

Thank you all for being a part of this weird, heavy, badass thing we have created. We are so happy to be the first game in the Material Series and can't wait to see the rest!
