Chaos does not have to define who are are. We can live all ABOVE the particular chaos in our lives by responding in a way that produces growth instead of defeat, and beauty instead of destruction. This book is for anyone who has been damaged or confused by circumstances, or has questions about how faith in God is lived out on a practical day-to-day level with a heart that can still receive and extend God's love.
Live ABOVE the Chaos is organized as follows:
Laurie's Story: Chaos overtook my life after the death of my brother and dear friend, Dan. I discovered my relationship with God was not strong enough to withstand the loss. (Have chaotic circumstances overtaken your life?)
Asking Questions: We all have big life questions, like how is God in control of this mess? Chaos can send us on a quest for answers. It's because my heart was broken that the answers I discovered passed through my mind and moved downward to penetrate my heart. Circumstances can provide perfect opportunities for us to increase our understanding that God is worthy of our trust. (Have you been collecting knowledge about God in your head...or your heart?)
Perspective: Sometimes how we view ourselves isn't how God views us. Turns out, God views His children as soldiers, lights, and mathematicians of all things! (Are you viewing yourself through God's eyes?)
Process (Growth): God starts growth in our hearts, not our behavior. When we let God "clean house" He gains more room to change us from the inside out and increase our ability to reflect His character to the world. (Are you growing spiritually? Are you being transformed?)
People: For each person who also walks the path of this book -- seeking answers, adopting God's perspective, and tending to his or her heart -- the result is inevitable. Each of us grows in our capacity to love people...all people...every single one. Through these deeper relationships we will be more transparent about our faith in Jesus in a way that is strong, yet loving and beautiful. (Do you see God's purposes in your relationships?)
Risks and challenges
Live ABOVE the Chaos is being self-published. The publishing company is selected and the manuscript is typeset. All that's left is designing the back cover and printing the book.
Once published, marketing materials will be needed (business cards, bookmarks, etc.). In addition, I would like to have a professional website developed that will allow me to blog about anything and everything regarding strengthening faith in Christ and better displaying His beauty to the world. I currently have three possible web developers to contact once I am funded.
Once funded, things happen fast. The book should be out within in one or two months. The exact date of publication is not known, but publication is certain.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
