I'm refining the last illustrations for my book. I'm ready to print soon - and I found a great printing house who can make the book I'm dreaming of delivering to the world: a book for artists and new colorists alike.
I didn't want to just publish on demand and sacrifice the binding and paper quality for convenience. I want to provide an immersive, enjoyable experience - and that starts first with the drawings and the paper.
While the illustrations are very important - so is the paper. With a good paper, you can unleash your creativity by using any media you desire, not just pencils and crayons. Use watercolor, acrylic, marker... you name it! The pages are printed single-sided and coil bound for an easy coloring experience
The book contains realistic fantasy drawings, and whimsical cartoony drawings... heavy linework and lighter ballpoint pen linework... a nice variety to suit anyone's taste. There are portraits, scenery, mystical beasts... all with a magical touch and most with the bluebell theme. Most have gone through 3 to 5 revisions before I'm satisfied with the quality of the linework. I color each one myself to make sure there are no errors with the drawing. Each page is made with love.
I started this book in the spring after I had the first coloring experience in my life... my little sister bought me a coloring book and I colored my first page. It was so relaxing not to think about the composition (artists can get stressed about their own work) - I just broke out my colored pencils and brought the page to life. Coloring has given me a safe, fun space to be creative and unwind after a tough day.
After that, I started becoming more involved in the coloring community by posting videos of my processes and live streams on instagram of my coloring work. I found it to be so fun, enjoyable, and amazing to connect with so many others - both advanced artists and new colorists alike. It is my belief that coloring is good for the soul, and I want to share my overactive imagination with you through this book.
The inspiration for the theme of this book is a real-life place I've transformed into a fantasy wonderland... a place my family visits every year when the bluebells bloom. (also see below)

Second Edition to come in Spring 2018
After the campaign is over and the book is sold out, I will be offering the book on lesser quality paper in a print on demand basis if there's demand for the book still. To warn you: this will be a cheap paper version that can take only colored pencils and crayons. The cost will be cheaper, and it will be available through Amazon in the early spring of 2018.
Risks and challenges
The risks are the printing production times and the shipping times, this may delay delivery if there's an issue with the printing company or if you're located very far away. I live in Philadelphia, PA USA and will be happy to ship to anywhere in the world. I will refund you any excess shipping fees if you live close by and I can get a good deal for you. I know I can deliver by sometime in December; but you may need to be patient for the exact date, depending on when the book comes to me.
PLEASE!! If it's a gift for someone for the holidays, please let me know. And which holiday it's for. I want to make it happen with you! We can work out faster shipping methods if pressed. Please note that international shipping for 2-day delivery is very costly and not practical! Please don't expect miracles on shipping if you live outside of the US. I'm really sorry about that!
If many people choose to be drawn for the book, this may also delay the printing (I'll need more time to do the drawings if there's more than a few - more than 5 will push me back a week). If this is the case, I'll communicate the new delivery time after the kickstarter campaign is completed and I can assess the quantity of pages to be replaced.
Top Reward Only Note: The only holdup I see here is on the customer's side with the commissions - if you take a long time to get back to me about changes and requests, then that will delay delivery of your completed painting.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
