Juicies - in production!

Hi there

This week has been a rather exciting one over here in Honolulu. On Tuesday, the package of T1 samples finally arrived via FedEx! It felt like Christmas and birthday combined. Tuesday was the most satisfying day since the time when the Kickstarter campaign was launched and ended successfully. All the issues I've been having over the past months have been resolved: the colors look awesome, the print on the cables is clean and they all work just great...EVERYTHING IS CORRECT!

T1 Sample Approval
That being said, I have approved the final T1 samples and asked the manufacturer to start mass production. The assembling company we're working with has many clients that order thousands of products per day. Nevertheless, our agent told me that he would make sure to reserve our spot in the assembly line immediately. He will provide me with the definite production schedule in the next few days. Once the process has been launched, producing, assembling, testing and packaging should take about 2-3 weeks.

USB Extensions
There's more good news: our Juicies USB Extensions are on schedule for mass production as well! Some of you have taken advantage of the offer to add a USB extension cable to your reward before the funding phase on Kickstarter ended. If you wanted one but did not get a chance to add it, there will be an option for you to add one to your reward later. I have to tell you they look just lovely, and, more importantly, they are very practical. I am using one of the samples right now for the charger on my nightstand since the power plug is about 5 ft away and under the bed. I am also using one in my office as the plug is about 4 ft away from the area on my desk where I like to place my phone and iPad. I will be taking some pictures of these in the coming days and I'll share them with you right away.

Juicies Online Store
What initially started out as an idea to make colorful cables for my kids, co-workers and friends has turned into a much larger project, which is in turn transforming into a business.
I am about to launch an online shop at I chose shopify as a hosted e-commerce platform. Since we are now getting closer to shipping the rewards, I've already started building up the shop. Below, you can see some screenshots of it. As you can see, the images now feature the long Stress Relief among other things. Initially we will have the Juicies USB to Dock Connector Cable and the Juicies USB Extension for sale on our site. Once your rewards have been shipped out and the shop is up and running I will probably start sourcing and developing other cool related products.

Address & Shipping
Very soon, all our backers will get the reward that they pledged for. Moreover, since we are manufacturing more units per color than initially planned, we will probably offer you the option to change color and also to add further items to your reward at a special backer price. There is no need to worry if you've moved in the meantime or just need to update your address. We will send you guys another email with a request to confirm or edit your reward and shipping address. So there is no need to send me a message about this now, but if you have any other issues, feel free to drop me a line!

Next Steps
I will be spending some time finishing up the shop in English and German. I will be taking high res images of the Dock Connectors and the USB Extensions. I will be calling the manufacture daily to make sure I get a confirmed assembly and ship date. I will also keep my eyes and ears open for any news regarding the iPhone 5.

That's all for now! Aloha from Honolulu.

We all should take bets. Which ships first the next iPhone or this fucking cable.

Glad to see you changed the Juicies logo.

      This is from his website:

      "What charges you?
Juicies is turning boring and thus far ignored cables into exciting statements of personality.

Launching soon. Join our list to be notified and get a chance to win some Juicies. Get 20 friends to join and you automatically win!"

This guy is like the epitomy of a Ponzi scheme!
If we start blasting him with thousands of email addresses, does that mean he will have to give out even more free cables (which he still doesn't even have!)?
      Sounds like a plan!

Seriously!? He expects anyone to go to his online store and "add items". WoW! This dude sure has balls! I hope his online store has room for testiminials so we can all go in and just blast the crap out of him for his future "customers" to see!
Even Apple is now selling colored cables in recycled packaging in thier stores! Saw em this weekend!
Talk about a day late and a dollar short!

@Michael Snively: Yeah, and so, it seems, didn't Laurens. But why promise a shipment date, which can't be kept? And tell me, why won't he answer any email I sent him? It's hard to produce a product, sure, but if you can't get it done by time, communicate! It's not that hard! Just be open and don't lie to your "customers"! Don't block any message. And those things are some elemental keys to success. Laurens failed in every way.
@David: Yeah, it's only 20'000$, but imagine what you can buy with that amount of money! Go on a skydive for example, and post a picture of that with your raised middlefingers. Or anything, except that the money was for. And as long as he just claims, he used our money for those outdated cables, I won't believe anything! He didn't name any company involved, he didn't provide any proof of money being paid to a manufacturer. I asked him for any proof of payment. I would've signed a NDA and would immediately shut up. But nothing came back! And that's why I'm slightly pissed at him.

      Let's see how this goes.
But everyone calm down a little, if he had the intention to steal your money he wouldn't post updates at all.
And secondly, this is 20.000$. It's not like Laurens could buy a mansion with that.

Glad you're commited to quality Laurens. Keep it up!

People complaining have no idea what the manufacturing process is like. Sure, Hasbro and Mattel can crank out new products but for an average person to go through the manufacturing process take tons of time!

I appreciate the updates and not just leaving us hanging, and congratulations on making it to the final stages!

Wow! Looks like I called that update on the nose! Another round of promises with no hard timeline and the same old pictures. The ones that load, that is.

It does look good indeed, I think I asked for the extender also, but have to confirm that. Also I added 20 friend to the website and they all confimed and I still haven't got any response on winning something from Juicies, what could've happen Laurenz?

I no longer have an iDevice, I was hoping I could get an extender in place of the Dock Connector...

YAY Laurenz. So excited. I didn't know about the extension cord and I'm super stoked about that. When the email comes to add to my backer order I will definitely be adding that on! Congrats on all the progress, I know you have been working hard! Aloha~ xo
