The Kickstarter Project was a Success! Thank you for backing the Mighty Click.
Thank you to all of the terrific backers of the Mighty Click who backed the product on Kickstarter and helped it successful reach its funding goal. I've gotten a ton of valuable feedback, and even a few ideas for future related products and possibly Kickstarter projects to get them off the ground.
The Kickstarter community is awesome!
If you missed the Kickstarter, you'll still be able to buy the Mighty Click when it hits the market, at the regular price.
After the lock is manufactured and hits the United States, it will eventually become available at Amazon, and at bike shops around the country as I figure out sales and distribution.
Here is where you will be able to find it on Amazon when it becomes available:
What is the Mighty Click Wearable Bike Lock?
Quite simply, it’s an affordable, secure, chain based bike lock that you can clip around your waist.
Here's what it looks like locked up.
Cycling is fun and awesome, but dealing with bike locks isn’t!
U locks are secure, but they are heavy and clunky and hard to carry around.
Cable locks aren’t very heavy, but they are also a huge pain to try and carry. Tangled cable, anyone? How about a cable blocking your brakes while you try to carry it against your handlebars? No thanks.
Long, heavy chain locks are very secure, but they are seriously hard to deal with. They are extremely heavy and unwieldy and are better suited for using at a single location.
Enter the Mighty Click!
At only 3.5 pounds, the Mighty Click is made out of a thick, hard, steel chain that will keep your bike safe, but is still reasonable to take with you. You hardly notice it's there when you're riding.
It is designed to be worn around your waist, so you don’t have to carry it in your hand, wear a backpack, or add some lame, heavy adapter onto your awesome bike frame. Easily adjusts from a 26" waist to a 38" waist size with a sturdy, non-proprietary clip design.
The Mighty Click has a reflective strip along the back of the lock! If you’re riding at dusk or at night, it will light up like crazy when a headlight shines on it, keeping you safer.
It also has a zippered pouch built into the lock cover, so you can carry your keys and a few other small items with you.
There will be two different versions of the Mighty Click.
Mighty Click Standard
The standard version of the Mighty Click wearable bicycle lock will include the chain and a padlock to go with it.
Mighty Click BYOL (Bring Your Own Lock)
Already have a padlock at home that you like? If so, you can buy the Bring Your Own Lock version and save a few bucks.
Bike theft is often a crime of opportunity!
By making it easy to take your lock with you, you’ll be more likely to lock it up every time you go somewhere. No more nervously staring out the window of your favorite cafe, worrying if someone is going to ride off with your bike while you are inside!

Risks and challenges
I have successfully manufactured several previous products, including a compost bin and a yoyo that was launched right here on Kickstarter.
I am working with a new manufacturing partner for this product, so there is a risk that the product might be late or might have a defect rate higher than I anticipate. But all of the prototype samples have been top notch and this is a straightforward design, so I think these problems are unlikely.
It is possible that something could happen to the shipment as it comes from Asia. I have never suffered a major loss of a shipment from overseas yet, however. So I think that this shipment will also arrive okay.
The shipment could arrive later than expected, because overseas deliveries can sometimes get caught in customs or get caught at a crowded port for an extended period of time. Usually, late shipments only end up being a few weeks late.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
