Important note: The Kickstarter backer ID database on Steam is currently missing a number of entries and is being updated. In a couple of hours it should recognise the backer ID of everybody.  Small team working through a large task list with lots of pressure in an online environment with an internet connection that decided today was a good day to go on strike - bare with us, it'll all be done soon enough ;)

Today is an extremely exciting day here at Larian. After years of developing a game we truly love, we get to release the full version of Divinity: Original Sin to both our amazing backers and to the rest of the gaming world.

It is at once thrilling and nerve-wracking; this vast world will now, for the first time, be explored in its entirety by the public. We can only hope you all have as much fun growing your Source Hunters and solving Rivellon's mysteries as we had developing them.

Without your support via Kickstarter and Early Access, this game would never have reached the level of polish and complexity present in its current form. Your contributions added a world of colour, secrets, enhancements, and depth to the game that has made this what we consider our best game to date.

Below, Swen explains just how grateful we are for your support:

Some changes regarding redeeming your key

In the past, we've said that launch will nullify your current Steam Early Access key and provide you with a new one for the full release of the game. This process has been amended and also applies to add-on versions of the game (i.e. for those of you who added a digital copy of the game to your original purchase).

IF YOU WANT TO PLAY D:OS ON STEAM, your Early Access code will remain active and you will be able to download the full version of the game using your current Early Access code.

IF YOU WANT TO PLAY D:OS ON GOG, log into your Larian Vault account and scroll down to "Your Rewards in Detail." Find the digital distribution icon and select "Change my digital distribution preference." Following these steps will cancel your Steam Early Access code and provide you with a key for GOG.

Redeeming your in-game rewards

To redeem your Kickstarter rewards in-game (e.g. personal dialog), go to your Larian Vault account and copy your Kickstarter reward code onto your clipboard. Then, fire up the game.

Click "Create a New Profile" and name your profile.

When the box for the Kickstarter backer code appears, click the little green button to the right of the entry field to paste your reward code from your clipboard.

Hit "Unlock" to claim your rewards, which will appear in-game.

Physical Rewards: What to expect

All of your regular physical and Collector's Editions have either already shipped or are shipping today, so keep an eye on your mailbox.

The Art Books and T-shirts have not shipped yet, but it won't be much longer before those follow.

Keep in mind that even if you've ordered physical copies of the game, you're still entitled to your digital code as of launch. Steam users, your existing Early Access code will work to download the full game; GOG users, follow the instructions listed above in the "Some changes regarding redeeming your key" section.

A very Twitchy evening!

We'll be streaming on Twitch twice tonight, first at 18:00 Brussels time with Eurogamer (9 a.m. Los Angeles, 12 p.m. New York, 20:00 Moscow) on Larian's channel: http://www.twitch.tv/larianstudios

Then again at 20:00 with Swiftor on his channel: http://www.twitch.tv/swiftor

It should be interesting to find out what this COD aficionado thinks of our sandbox RPG!

Exploring the Galaxy: Larian and GOG team up

We’ve been secretly working on supporting GOG Galaxy, the new online multiplayer platform from GOG.com and are happy to announce that full GOG Galaxy integration will be available for Divinity: Original Sin.

GOG is still working on launching Galaxy, so before that happens, our Kickstarter backers who have selected GOG.com as the digital distribution platform will be able to use Direct IP or LAN options to play in multiplayer. Once GOG Galaxy launches (by the end of August, the folks at GOG tell us), they will be able to take advantage of all the features this DRM-free online gaming platform offers.

The Divine Engine Toolkit is live!

Now that the Divinity Engine Toolkit is available to download, we can't wait to see and play all the amazing adventures modders will produce. With a wide world of assets and a very powerful engine at your disposal, Rivellon (or your own personal universe) as at your fingertips.

Check out the following video for an overview of the engine's features:

We'll be offering much more in the way of illuminating some of the finer points of navigating our toolset in the coming weeks and months, but first we'll take a bit of breather to enjoy the game's launch and catch up on some sleep :).

A word on translations...

Due to the volume of text in the game and some last minute changes, some of our translations arrived later than others. English is, of course, available in a completed form now, and we expect French & German to be in by tomorrow. We'll soon have word on Polish and Russian.

Claim your hint; beware your sheep

Those of you who added the Weresheep hint to your pledge, keep an eye on your email inboxes. You should be receiving your hint shortly! Happy hunting and feel free to share your hint if you're feeling generous.

Let's get playing!

Enough reading; it's time to play! We invite you to share your experiences with the game on our forum and, most of all, to enjoy the fruit of your investment. Again, as ever, this project would not have been possible without your support. Thank you and have fun!

      Hi,
I was wondering if the GOG version differs from the steam version since somebody said that there are a few extras there like the source hunter DLC which I don't see in steam.

Congratulations Larian to the fantastic launch and nice reviews, this is without a doubt the best RPG experience I've had in quite a while, played DOS for around 90 hours, absolutely fantastic the map design of the derelict stuff is just mindblowingly good at times and the way you implemented hints into the pet pal skill, superb :) I will miss the updates (do more of them please !) but then again, maybe another kickstarter project is being planned, hopefully :P I will back it again !, thanks for a fantastic game, be proud of it.

    14. Creator mrfatso ~ Defender of The Goat on July 6, 2014

never mind, if i remember correctly, mine brother key should be the one with the DUO name in it.

    15. Creator mrfatso ~ Defender of The Goat on July 6, 2014

that's the problem, i do not see a cd key option in my steam library.

    16. Creator Ng Junyuan on July 6, 2014

Wow, congrats larian team, you've really outdone yourselves. 17 hours into the game and I'm still not out of Cyseal! Now this is a proper crpg. I salute you, and look forward to more of such games for years to come!

    17. Creator Lion on July 5, 2014

Is there any way to speed up your character's movement?

It feels insanely slow and the isometric angle makes it feel worse (the speed that is).

    18. Creator Weresheep of BAAAH on July 4, 2014

Your brother should be able to see the key by rightclicking the game in Steam library and choosign CD key option (pr smth similar, I don't remember exact phrase used).

    19. Creator mrfatso ~ Defender of The Goat on July 4, 2014

nuts, one of my steam key was given to my brother, so i have no idea which key am i able to destory.

Is there a way to view what was the cd key used in steam?

    20. Creator Dimitris WOOS on July 4, 2014

      @Darklord
Anyone that you like. You can use both, by creating two profiles.

    21. Creator Darklord on July 4, 2014

Which code should I use if you have multiple? I have one for backing on KS and another for contributing to the RPGWatch pledge.

    22. Creator AstralWanderer on July 3, 2014

      @Michael:
Your code should work for every copy of the game you receive.

    23. Creator Michael Sünderland on July 3, 2014

Does the kickstarter reward key work for two copies if I pledged for the duo level that has 2 retail copies?

    24. Creator ArturoJPC on July 3, 2014

      The Humble Bundle Store.

    25. Creator Weresheep of BAAAH on July 3, 2014

I think I've read somewhere that it does, you just need to use it both. Can't hurt to try :)

    26. Creator IchigoRXC - Zerth of the Obsidian Order on July 3, 2014

Hi, I am wondering does the backer code work for both people if you bought the game for two people via the "Digital Dragon Commander Digital Copy". I only have one backer code and need to know if it can be used on two accounts, one for me one for my friend. Thanks

    27. Creator Dimitris WOOS on July 3, 2014

Yes, update is available for GOG version too.

Thanks for this truly great game!

    28. Creator AstralWanderer on July 3, 2014

@Sendaholic: GOG have updated their D:OS downloads (available to KS backers only for now) which now include the Source Hunter DLC, artbook, design notes and soundtrack (in FLAC and MP3).

    29. Creator madGamer on July 3, 2014

@Senchaholic i tink you have onlty to insert the Kickstarter backer code, "You can select this code and then copy it. You can paste it by clicking the small green button in the game next to the input box." its the second red box.

    30. Creator AstralWanderer on July 3, 2014

@Sendaholic: Not yet, but GOG have said their version will be complete content-wise so it'll probably come in an update. Ditto with the toolset.

    31. Creator Senchaholic on July 3, 2014

How does it work with DLC for Original Sin on GOG? Is all the DLC in that 6.3 GB package?

    32. Creator Guegue on July 3, 2014

Hi, someone allready received their kickstarter collector box in France? Still waiting for it

    33. Creator Mitosuke on July 3, 2014

Grails works with armor (not all of them). Just click and drag it to one of your armor, for example shoes. It only boosts the armor gold value from what I noticed. It's useful to make more money.
Trunks is supposed to just make random comments with certain quests/events. I haven't experienced them myself yet. The lastest patch (V1.0.47) says "Zandalor's Trunks will now talk." So it should be fixed, hopefully.

    34. Creator novakowski on July 2, 2014

any one having proplems with the grail, trunks and potions
      still missing the potion
and grail and trunks do nothing

    35. Creator saodhar on July 2, 2014

Destroyed my second Steam key and replaced it with the GOG one - all smoothly. Thanks, Larian! :)

    36. Creator Ruben Andre' Breiseth on July 2, 2014

Thanks for sorting out the launch codes thus letting me nuke the steam key :D GOG here i come! All my best wishes to you and a healthy recovery for Kirill! Chin up!

    37. Creator Karine on July 2, 2014

There is something I don't quite understand, can someone help me?

Like many backers I used the Steam alpha key, got stuck with a Steam key on release, but later managed to change it to a GOG key, and now the game has been added to my GOG library. So far so good.

But what I don't understand is that D:OS is still part of my Steam library?? I thought it was supposed to disappear when I got my GOG key, why is it still there? I paused the download, but I could download a 4.7GB update, I suppose it's the full game? While I wouldn't mind owning both a GOG and Steam copy, at the $25 tier, I'm supposed to have only one copy of the game. I'm kind on a Steam noob, so maybe all of this is normal, I just want to understand what's going on.

    38. Creator WhyteKnight - WOOS on July 2, 2014

OK. Destroyed 1 key & finally got GOG one.

Then tried to register Duo pack. Says already registered but no 2nd gift key in inventory?

    39. Creator Weresheep of BAAAH on July 2, 2014

Themis, GOG posted on their forums:

"As soon as we get the Mac version, we'll most definitely let everyone know :)"

So it'll get there, but I suspect the Windows version need to get sufficiently patched first. Not sure though.

    40. Creator Weresheep of BAAAH on July 2, 2014

Michael, it should work. After I destroyed my key I'm pretty sure I had the option to choose between Steam and GOG again, it wasn't just GOG.

    41. Creator Michael Sünderland on July 2, 2014

For those of us that gave away alpha keys because we were told there would be a fresh batch of release keys,

Can we use the destroy option and get another steam key?

    42. Creator Themis on July 2, 2014

Is that a joke? Where's the mac client in GOG?

    43. Creator Gökhan Halil Düzgün on July 2, 2014

Thanks friends for the guiding. I changed my key and downloading it right now. 1 gb downloaded already.

    44. Creator J.L. on July 2, 2014

Yay, got me GOG and installing now! (c:

      Off to play some!

    45. Creator Restless on July 2, 2014

      I got it!!

@Gökhan: It's the link under that red message!

    46. Creator AstralWanderer on July 2, 2014

@Razvan Alexandru Bara: "You wanted so badly DRM free, that comes with a lot of trobles. Everything has its ups and downs. You should know that by now"
This I had to laugh at - while both Larian and GOG have fumbled this release badly, the result is a small (albeit frustrating) delay for backers. In contrast, having to deal with Steam's account suspensions http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/forums/showthread.php… region blocking http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php… insecure software http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/10/17/steam_revuln_analysis/ and database hacks http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2011/11/valve-confirms-steam-hack-credit-cards-personal-info-may-be-stolen/ is a far worse situation.
The reason that backers here have expressed a strong preference for GOG is that it provides straightforward downloads that don't require regular activation, rely on an insecure service or impose arbitrary restrictions on customers. Larian seem to have underestimated the value of this (not least by shipping DVDs that require 6GB+ downloads making them unsuitable for those with poor connections) which is a real surprise given they've handled this in the past with previous games. Let's hope they take time to reflect and learn, since similar cases will arise in future once they start making D:OS available on other services like the HumbleBundle.

    47. Creator akhliber on July 2, 2014

Key transfer system is indeed up and running. Hooray!

Finally! It works! Thanks Larian :)

    50. Creator Gökhan Halil Düzgün on July 2, 2014

Where can we see this destroying key option? All I see is this annoying red message in the D:OS Kickstarter tab, and when I click "Your Choices & Input" this message: "Divinity: Original Sin Digital

Choose GOG or Steam. Once requested, that key is final.
If you have requested an Alpha key before on Steam, please bear with us as you will be able to change this to GOG very soon. If you do change this to GOG, the Steam key will stop working.
