I know Kirill has very high standards, but he did a great job re-arranging, playing, and singing the Update Song. It made me want to stand up, dance, and sing along with him! )

Hey! You guys might get the entire Larian Team to sing the Update Song, together, for your finale at the end of the Kickstarter Countdown party! I think you'd enjoy it almost as much as we would. I don't know if I'll be around to watch it live, but I'll be able to catch it on Twitch.TV/YouTube, later, right?

    2. Jamie Dutton on

Holy Weresheep! As if I wasn't already drooling over the music for D:OS, you go and do this!

    3. gandalf.nho

Nice, Kirill really deserves a orchestra to play his music

    4. Helena on

Kirill Pokrovsky + live orchestra? OK, that settles it: we HAVE to get to the $700k goal. Luckily we seem to be well on the way already :-D

    5. Darklord on

Hey Larian! I like you guys, your videos make me smile. Good luck with all this!

    6. Tobi (Crusader Kickstarter pls!!) on

WOOOOOOOOO, live orchestra for Mr. Pokrovsky!! Awesome!!

    7. Bumvelcrow on

I can feel a spontaneous dance coming on. :)

live orchestra would be sweet, even big budget games often don't have that (looking at you bioware) I'm a musician so its always really obvious when they use fake instruments.

    9. Ana Silva on

Never mind. I just read that it's counting with the Paypal funds. Damn my overeager glee and child-like excitement at getting things unlocked.

    10. Ana Silva on

Erm, was it a typo, or did the project suddenly lost 5.000? Because currently, the money is sitting at 645.000, and the unlock was meant to be at 650.000.

      Or am I seeing things?

    11. DJ_Serperior on

You guys should add some sort of text log if you're not planning one already. I can totally see myself accidentally missing one of those little clues my character gives and then I'd have to reload my last save so I could try to catch it again.

    12. Ikalios

I think it is a great idea to propose more smaller stretch goals between the big one already there, it gives the impression that we can achieve goals faster and that every pledge is meaningful (compared to 1M stretch goals). Even if those are small goals, or big as the orchestra, this will push the pledges up.

Just look at the myth KS, because the goals are only at each 25k, it went up really fast

Great work !! I'm happy to have upgraded my pledge here. This game will be awesome

    13. Matthis "Drakeok" Lemaire on

hey ! i'm a french fan, but there are too few french fans of RPG know your works and the kickstarter campaign. help !

    14. Peter "araziel" Cruickshanks

How you guys don't already have 2 million in pledges is beyond me.
Incredible game with a great pedigree, lots of in game footage and previews, super amazing funny people everywhere and plenty of updates.

      Come on already!

    15. theeliminator on

I like and dislike lock picking in games, I like it cause it does fit the world and a character archetype. But, I dislike it cause, in most games it becomes almost mandatory. I would really like to see alternative options for getting through a locked obstacle. Such as bashing or magical means (aka Knock like spell) Lock picking would be the best way to get through a locked obstacle. They are quite and do not damage the contents inside chests. Where Bash could get you past a lock with the risk of damaging items inside the chest or alerting enemies behind a door. A spell could open a chest with out damaging the contents but it make a loud nose and also cant be used unless you get the spell.

      just some thoughts

Since I heard the Ukulele version once, I now have to link to it.…

      It *is* awesome.

    17. ekster

Music, especially in RPGs, is extremely important. It can hugely affect the game's ambiance and change it from boring to awesome.

And an orchestra makes a huge difference, so I am pretty sure a lot of people are very happy about it. I know I am. More games need awesome music, and Kirill definitely could use an orchestra. :)

    18. Stabbey on

@Cutter - They said " Therefore, without affecting any of the other stretch goals, we'd like to give Kirill something he's also wanted"

This is a present, it's not going to interfere with the Henchman one. Larian will work it out, somehow.

    19. LordCrash on

      @ MoGlee
Yes, paypal will be available as long as kickstarter needs for collecting and transferting funds (2-4 weeks probably).

    20. Zalusithix on

@Cutter: You are not everybody, please don't assume to speak for them when you have no basis for it. Some people (myself included) actually value the quality of music we'll have to listen to all game long.

      Cutter on

I'd much rather have companions than orchestra music and so would everyone else.

    22. Dimitris WOOS on

      1. Talents & traits! Yes very nice!
An idea of a talent would craftsmanship or something that would govern item combinations.
And also alchemy of course! (though I don't know if this is already implemented in the game).

      2. Great new stretch goal which we're surely going to hit!

      3. Last,I want that weresheep doll as an add-on please! :))

    23. Jan on

      I'm waiting for the T-Shirts!

    24. JonNik on

Heh, poor Jan is in terrible danger of becoming an internet meme...

    25. Jaesun on

The way you are implementing "Secret Areas" is BEYOND AWESOME Larian! <3

      You guys ROCK!

    26. Ng Junyuan on

And of course, in customary fashion,

"It's going to be awesome!" :D

    27. Ng Junyuan on

Lol! "It's going to be awesome is a thing now!" :D:D:D:D

    28. JonNik on

Excellent new goal Larian! Both Kirill and the game deserve the added dimension it will bring to the music (not to mention the game's atmosphere).

Adding $5 to do my little bit :)

    29. Jan on

@Ashish - We are doing that yes, for two more weeks.

    30. MoGlee on

Will you guys consider including Paypal donations after the Kickstarter ends towards the stretch goals, like they are doing for Torment?

    31. LordCrash on

I hope Kirill will include some piano-only tracks in D:OS, played by himself of course. That would be awesome.... :)

    32. tarasis on

      Orchestra? Two Thumbs Up!

    33. Stabbey on

Wow, the possibilities are electrifying. This is going to be really good.

    34. Ohmwrecker on

Thanks for sharing both parts of my coverage! I really had a great time playing with David, and am really looking forward to jumping back in again closer to launch. :)

    35. Jesse Dylan Watson on

Woo! We will definitely get Kirill an orchestra! This game has awesome music. It and Kirill deserve this.

Still hoping madly for the $1,000,000 goal. I think we can get $800,000 for sure. :)

    36. ekster

The new stretchgoal -- yes please!

Live orchestra for Kirill is an awesome idea. He deserves it! And so do our ears. :D

    37. LordCrash on

      Kirill, Kirill, Kirill!

That orchestra stretch goal is AMAZING! :)

In the case that we get the henchmen-become-companion thing, does that count towards the people who pledge for the create-a-henchman tier?

    41. Sune - Pinkish Weresheep of Sin on

It's indeed going to be awesome. Extremely hyped about the orchestra, which would be amazing for the game, and we should well reach it
