Well dan who is sometime uber; the avg is going down as I collect more data :)
The crash rate appears to be steadily increasing: 3 hr -> 1.5 hr -> 1 hr. I estimate at this rate that the game will be completely non-funtional by next week.
yea mostly work is a so so assessment. It seems to be crashing approx once an hour.
Hum. Actually crashing (mostly in the form of freezes) seem to happen every 90 to 120 minutes. If it keeps up at this rate it will become annoying.
Well I can state factually that the linux version mostly works. It seems to have a memory leak (as does the windows version) and after very long sessions will suddenly crash (as does the windows session). I think the longest I have played without a crash on linux is 3 hours but most of my sessions are short (1 to 2 hours). I've had one crash so far. On windows my longest sessions is probably 5 hours but I've had 3 or 4 crashes (enough to be noticed but not so bad that is a disaster).
btw the linux version is now available on GOG (it has been available on Steam for a few days)
thank you for the explanation
The graphical issues with AMD cards were fixed fairly quickly (within a day).
There were skills added/removed/changed in the EE and balancing changes to the skills system, which meant that things like the henchmen were even more unbalanced than they were in D:OS, so they needed to be replaced. The summon names caused issues with localization, etc. For various other reasons, eventually all of the Kickstarter specific content was removed from the EE (main menu message, credits, etc).
The Golden Grail and Zandalor's Trunks are included for everyone.
Why kickstarter code isn't used in the EE?
it is sad, I understand that as a Linux user I had to wait a little longer for the game, I understand that may appear strange errors on Linux (I hope that soon will be repaired :) ), but I do not understand why I'm worse than Windows user and I do not get the reward contained in Kickstarter backer code.
There wasn't an update specifically for the Linux release, but the last D:OS 2 Kickstarter update said it would be any day, once an issue was tracked down and fixed.
The Kickstarter code isn't used in the EE.
Oh nice finally. I've just discovered it by accident.
Did I miss an update for this?
I know it's probably a bit unfair but a bit more communication would've been nice.
Linux version released :) Thanks :)
I have a question. Where do I enter kickstarter backer code ?
The D:OS-2 kickstarter update mentioned the linux version. They have memory leaks and probably other bugs... but it sounds like it is getting closer though I'm a bit perplexed why the linux version would have memory leaks (I suspect the windows has memory leaks so perhaps I shoudn't be surprise).
The Linux version of the EE might possibly be released this week; if not, it should still be this month.
when the Linux version comes, please ?
Console gamers are before backer ... !?!
According to a new twit post GOG now has it on sale for 33% off.
There were two twit post on larian account:
a) The game is on sale @ steam during cyber monday. My guess is that if you act fast it is still on sale.
b) They are testing mac/linux so while they missed Dec 1st they are pretty sure they will be released this month,.
Just wanted to say thank you for linux. I understand the delays and it's perfectly fine to me. I have a life to live anyway so Ill play on windows for now. Otherwise why keep that box around in the first place right? Anyway, thank you for all your hard work. It is appreciated. Especially the fact that you take your time to make things right.
you only get the PC version of D:OS-EE for free. They never promised PS4 nor does it make much sense as the original campaign was for a PC game. No clue on collector but it would not surprise me if you have the original in collector and just the D:OS-EE game. No clue on credits i haven't paid attention.
21stCenturyguy: if you never obtained your key for the original you should probably contact larian support. You had to obtain your key from their website; the concern now is what you should do to get both the EE and original version.
Ink Blot: I have those funky worthless trunks in my version of the EE; though I woudln't care if they were missing.
I don't know any of the other answers but i suggest you contact larian's support they are pretty responsive. They rarely read this thread given that things have moved on to D:OS-2.
I thought as backers we would get a code to get Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition onto ps4? Any ideas?
Same here, only got the regular, non-collector's edition of the EE. A bit disappointing, to be honest.
In related news, did anyone check the credits to see if Kickstarter backers are still present? I currently can't launch the EE, because I'm running Vista 64-bit, which isn't supported, but it has been said on the Steam forums that Kickstarter backers no longer show up on the credits. If that is indeed true, it's very disappointing.
Did any tier get the collector's edition of the game? I was kind of bummed that I only got the regular version of EE.
DOS:EE is amazing! But I have one concern...do custom portraits no longer work? If not, can we have them back in the next patch?? :)
Im a Kickstarter backer - how do i download to Steam??? The original is not there.
Curious: does the EE include the Source Hunter DLC or is it still separate like it was for the original release?
It's in your Steam library of games, if you already have it.
So, if you have the steam version of D:OS, how does one acquire the EE?
Dear Dan who is Uber; I suspect there will be at least 3 more updates. One next week when EE version is released; one in December when the linux version is finally available; and finally there will be at least one more update when D:OS-2 is available !
fyi: In case you missed it the linux (and mac) version of the EE edition has been delayed till december. So don't go balastic when it is not there next week.
@Brenden no. Sony and Microsoft don´t give keys for free.
I kickstarted this game do I get a free copy for my Xbox one?
Update ! Update !! We want an update !!!
Now that the DOS 2 kickstarter has finished. I think it is a good time for a DOS 1 update !!! I would like to know if the EE will have a game mode where the two main characters are replaced with Swen and a talking dog.
Sigh. I've been reduced to nothing more than a liar.
@flump "my last post here" was a lie. Welcome back :P
Us Linux guys must sound like a broken record to Larian. But when that Linux binary finally purs nicely on my system, all will be well. Lessons learned on all sides.
They have said that linux will be in the enhanced version. I think the release date is oct 27 so 3 weeks a little bit until you get your wish !
Still waiting for the non-steam drm-free Linux release for this one - Not going to support D:OS2 until they deliver.
13 days to go and Larian still hasn't cracked the 2 million mark. I'm rooting for you Larian!
Anyone else who didnt recieve their disc? Larian is even ignoring my emails, so basicly it seems Ive been scammed out of 70$.
Oops, I thought this was the D:OS 2 comments section.
Yes, Sami. After the debacle of D:OS 1, they don't want to make any promises about what platforms the game will be on until they're sure. They intend to make it available for Mac and Linux, but aren't going to put that as a promise in writing.
I guess the Linux release for this will be sometime after D:OS2 is out.
Goodbye Forever D:OS Comments chat, it was lovely knowing you. Hopefully D:OS II comments will be as lively.
I feel for the Linux users still waiting on their release. I was surprised it didn't follow the Mac release, making them wait for the EE was too much.
Another disappointed Linux user here.
My guess would be very few, if any.
IMHO, if they hadn't ported their engine to a newer Unity for PS4 and XBox One then there would be no Linux Version at all.
I am also one of the disappointed Linux users. Due to the history about D:OS Linux support I will never ever back D:OS2!
Let's make a list of Linux users wo refuse to support any future Larian projects. Just copy the test below and add your count:
Disappointed Linux User: #00001
Wonder how many linux users are going to back D:OS2. I haven't had the chance to play D:OS at all until now. And I pledged enough to get 2 copies of the first installment of the series. Ok, this issue is as old as the hills and the EE is due to be released, but still.. it just feels a little awkward.
Besides that I'm thinking about backing, maybe Larian really got it figured out to support linux in their games. Although it makes me wonder about my sanity..
My last post here. Remember folks be respectful and note that flying turtles and soup do not mix.
