Yea - i was going to post that thread. Basically the linux version won't be out till the story rewrite is done and raze keeps saying that will be a couple of more months. Problem is each month it is a couple of more months :)
Actually the latest Linux information is one month old:
The only thing I ask myself: Why do you say something like "There'll be a release soon!" - which was in december - but there's nothing. Almost 4 month after the last information about linux.
Seems like you don't want the linux users money in the future? Honestly, I appreciate you promised to deliver a cross platform game. But if you do promise that, you should also do so! Feeling like a second class user, just because we use a FOSS OS, isn't the thing we like.
Actually .... LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX LINUX ???????????????????
I'm sure they have an internal roadmap. I don't think they have made it public :)
It would be nice if everyday was friday.
Is there some sort of roadmap anywhere, where one can see what changes are planned for the immediate future of the game?
I'm sure somewhere it is Friday with the different time zones.
Hum, today is not friday.
Update ! Update !! We want an update !!!
I wonder when that next big story fixing patch will be ? Raze keeps saying months but if it will always be months it will never arrive :(
NVM. Found the update and its all worked out!
So I backed at the 35 dollar tier, but never received anything. What can I do to prove this and get my reward or am I just boned? (it's also possible I received it but it got lost/never saw it)
Well I think Stabbey is a bit negative I do suspect the next update will be the last update but with luck they will do another kickstart. It isn't so much about the money as it is the community and I think they would benefit from running another kickstart. I think they should take the route that hare took (shadowrun) and not offer physical goods.
Yes. I know people are eager for news and stuff, but there have only been three updates in the 8 months since release, and the new big huge patch is still two months (or more away).
It should be clear by now that Larian is too busy to give updates just for the sake of the three people left still posting here, and they'll only give an update when there is something substantial worth posting. They'll probably give an update once the big large Hardcore Mode patch is posted, but that will probably be IT, the last one, in terms of KS updates for Original Sin.
new post (and it should show why we don't get a kickstarter update)
Well, Sven is currently in Canada. :p (or atleast he was last monday)
Sven is currently on the radio in Belgium (radio 1). Larian won some sort of Cultural prize for Original Sin.
Does anyone know what ever happened to the Digital Map Add-on? Was it ever delivered? I never got it and haven't heard a peep about it.
Also, if anyone is looking for more tactical turn-based combat games to support then you should check out the Dungeons of Aledorn Kickstarter.
for teh people interested, this is in its final hours:
Thanks, Stabbey! Good to know. Maybe I'll find it next time.. :-)
Well Raze seemed to suggest it would be a couple of more months before the next patch so I think we have a very long wait. Probably be burning hot summer before we hear something official.
How strange, no news, no lar.net update, and Pillars of eternity comming ... They don't want to take their steam off, I think :)
An update really would make the day more lively.
Hum. Slow day.
@Andy - The message in the woods is indeed in, but because there were so many, it's not displayed as 1,000+ individual messages, but in 10 long scrolling screens of messages you can see.
It can be found in the Phantom Forest. You'll know it when you see it.
I wonder if they are already preparing their next Kickstarter for one of their new games and they don't update us, because they want a big booom with the latest news... :-D
hmmm, now that I think of it.. got "message in the woods" implemented? I didn't see any sign of it..
Well they are making the Italians happy but still no flying turtles :(
And just maybe they will mention flying turtles !!
Gladly there will be no update on turtle soup; but eventually there will be an update on the linux version and story rewrite.
Update ! Update !! We want an update on the turtle soup !!!
@Flump - I based that on Swen's twitter mentioning that he was recording a video. Apparently there's something coming next week, but the video is not for a Kickstarter update.
@Grinsevent - flying turtles great; turtle soup is unrespectful and inconsiderate.
@Larian do you plan to do another patch for DC; I realize below you said that no one is working on it but the way you worded it sounded like you were undecided if it will see additional work.
@Stabby I thought you said an update was comming this past week; or did you mean some future week ?
Hey Larian, just to say it again, you guys rocks :) and should add "turtle soup" :)
Seven Dragon Saga by Tactical Simulations Interactive (TSI)
@Larian - I know. I could tell when the last KS update showed what everyone at Larian was working on and DC wasn't mentioned. I've actually given up on the idea that there'll be any more updates for DC.
@Flump - The impression I got about the story changes is that it might only be a bunch of tweaks to various things. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it's quite substantial.
Yea I know you will over-deliver that's why i'm excited for the story rewrite :)
Nobody is working on that for the moment.
How much more time will the "patch in progress" for Dragon Commander need?
Trying to get things done guys, but we're doing a lot of things. We're going to over deliver, I promise, but it takes time.
Bleh the balance patch is the thing that least interest me; I really want to hear about the story rewrite and linux port.
A Kickstarter update is almost certainly coming this week. But after the big huge balance patch comes out, there probably won't be all that many more. It is what, nine months after release?
You know Larian - we really would appreciate an update. Specifically information on the linux port AND story rewrite. Perhaps an informal comment here would be sufficient :) While I know you do not want to commit to specific dates it would be interesting to know if they might be ready in 3 or 6 months. If nothing else I was bored last week and built a inux box that I can use to test out the linux build :)
