Roadkill du Jour is a revenge fable – the story of a lone biker’s quest to rebuilding his annihilated gang and lift the curse placed on him by the witch, Mama Houdoo – the curse to eat nothing but roadkill for the rest of his days… In this third installment of Roadkill du Jour, duJour – that’s our cursed biker – leads his patchwork band of misfit riders to Mama’s swamp sanctum, tucked deep in the darkest swamps, where she launches her own Gatorbait Motorcycle Club on a covert counterassault.
DuJour is a man possessed, perhaps in more ways than one. After Mama Houdoo and her Gatorbait crew wiped out his entire motorcycle gang/family, he wandered the bayou, lost and lonely, just awaitin' his chance to get revenge and get rid of his awful curse.
Truth be told, it was Papoose picked duJour up outta armadillo carcass and turned him in the direction of redemption. What's Papoose get outta all this mayhem? Friends, fun and freedom from his mean ole' Grandpappy!
Mama Houdoo runs a tight ship at the Gatorbait Motorcycle Club, and she don't like no competition from rival outfits. DuJour found out the hard way, when she led the slaughter of his Roadkill boys and turned him into a connoisseur of street meat!
Crawdaddy was once a man - Mama Houdoo's man, in fact. But, she found him lacking...lacking ruthlessness, lacking hatred, lacking E-V-I-L. So, she replaced him from the inside out, conjuring up a demon to fill all the good parts that were left.
Chucklehead is one-of-a-kind, in case you didn't figure that out for yourself. Mama cut him up and fed his remains to a catfish, but he had a secret - a charm in the form of gold tooth that locked his soul in that fish and made its body his own. Reckon he's on duJour's side?
DuJour was gonna invite Chaya to the new Roadkill gang, but Mama Houdoo got to her first - and stole away Ossie, pregnant love of her life. You know this didn't sit well with Chaya, and, now, she's on the big ride to Mama's place with duJour and the rest of the gang!
Roadkill du Jour 3 is a 20-page, full-color fantasy-horror comic, firmly entrenched in Southern mythology. It is written by Kevin LaPorte (Clown Town, Last Ride for Horsemen, Eyes of the Hurricane). This is the third of a four-issue series, the first two chapters of which are available as part of multiple reward tiers in this campaign.
To add a standard copy of Roadkill du Jour 1 or 2 to any other reward tier, simply add $5 each to your pledge and message us at the “Contact Me” link to the right to let us know what the additional funds are for!
THE LOYALTY REWARD

Kevin LaPorte is the Fairhope, Alabama-based writer and co-creator of genre comics with a horror bent - Last Ride for Horsemen, Roadkill du Jour, Clown Town & The Blind Eye! The worlds Kevin creates range from dark carnivals overrun by killer clowns violently avenging abused children (Clown Town) to dying frontier towns in the Old West beset by Steampunk versions of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Last Ride for Horsemen) to the bayou territory of a lone motorcycle gangster seeking vengeance for his cursed appetite for street meat and the slaughter of his brothers-in-arms (Roadkill du Jour)! Kevin also contributed poetry and lyrics to Ancients & Warriors: The Sketch Art of Gavin Michelli, featuring the figure work of collaborator, Gavin Michelli.

There are few to NO risks in the completion and fulfillment of this project. As the Kickstarter campaign launches, only a few pages remain to be completed in terms of art. We are committed to having ALL production work completed by the time the Kickstarter campaign ends, so that only printing and fulfillment must be accomplished after funding is achieved.
