***$15,000 STRETCH GOAL***
1.) Live Sound Setup
LAPOMPE prides ourselves on putting on an amazing live show and sometimes that requires us to run our own sound. Our sound setup of PAs, monitors, and board have served us well, but as the rooms we play get bigger and bigger, we've found ourselves in need of an upgrade for fidelity and projection.
2.) Audio Visual Equipment
A big part of being a 21st century band is maintaining a strong visual presence. We make nearly all of our own videos in-house and love the opportunity to present a visual component to our music. If the stretch goal is met, we'll invest in another Sony camera and audio recording gear to make our videos the best they can be.
3.) Flexibility in the studio
Though we've raised enough funds for our projected studio time and post-production costs, having a buffer layer of funds allows us the comfort to spend extra time where it's needed to make each track shine.
The Story So Far
Established in 2013, LAPOMPE was initially created to better understand the musical stylings of Django Reinhardt and his contemporaries. But over the years, LAPOMPE's grown in the Denver music scene becoming a staple act at swing dances, music festivals, and local venues across the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. As our sound and taste has matured, we've broadened our musical horizons, incorporating sounds from folk, bluegrass, blues, and even a little rock. With experience in our belt and these inspirations simmering, we're itching to get some brand-new music on tape.
Our New Album
During the summer of 2018, we locked ourselves in a cabin outside of Bailey, CO and vowed not to return until we had written our next album. Several days later we emerged with a handful of tasty new tracks, unifying our oldest influences with a modern sound (and amazingly, we hadn't destroyed each other in that tiny little pressure-cooker of a space). The new songs range from classic gypsy jazz to blues to Americana and come from a place of deep collaboration; each member of the band has infused their voice in every tune.
Now that we've tightened the screws on the new songs, we're taking them to one of the top jazz and bluegrass recording studios in Denver, Mighty Fine Productions. Their skill and expertise will help us realize our vision: a full length all-original album, fusing the music we love with the spirit of Denver and its people.
How to Join the Party
In addition to a fresh, new album, we have a variety of never-before-seen merch, swag, and goodies we are excited to share with you. Backing us in this endeavor can get you all sorts of cool and exclusive items that may never be available again! With shirts, posters, glassware, early access to the new music (including some exclusive bonus material) and VIP experiences with the band, there's a great reward for everybody at every amount.
We couldn't be be more more excited to take this next musical step as a band; this album has been one of the most collaborative experiences we've gotten to have as LAPOMPE. Working from the ground up, we've created original songs that push us as musicians and express personal ideas in a fun and meaningful way.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being a part of the process.
Risks and challenges
Kickstarter is all-or-nothing, so if we do not reach our goal many of the exclusive rewards will be unavailable. The album is being recorded November 2018 with a planned release in Mar./Apr 2019. Rewards will be delivered earlier, once the album is available. We are handling all merch and shipping in house which means there may be some hiccups, but we will ensure you receive everything you are entitled to as timely as possible!
