Some New Alpha Footage

Hello everyone! The Canvasser Kickstarter is drawing to a close, and it looks like we will not receive our funding. Nevertheless, the amount of support this project received has been extremely inspiring and encouraging, and it makes me very happy to see everyone's faith in the project.

Even if this project does not meet it's funding goal, I am determined to see the project through. Although it won't be as ambitious as I hoped, it will still be a complete game with lots of fun canvassing action! I will be continuing to post development news at my blog, so check it out if you're interested.

Also, I've uploaded some new alpha footage from youtube that showcases a lot of the new stuff I've been adding to the game! You can watch it below.

Thank You! And Localization!

In this update video I talk about localization. Specifically, the idea that you could swap all of Canvasser's dialogue to an issue that matters to you to raise awareness! Or a canvassing organization could make the game about issues that they are actively campaigning about!

It's a pretty cool idea isn't it? It's exciting enough that I am going to develop a Canvasser Editor that will be available separate from the main game! In it you'll find an accessible way to make Canvasser about whatever you want! And it will be free to all Kickstarter donators!

New Heads Up Display!

Hi everyone! First of all, I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who has contributed so far in these first couple of days. It really means a lot to see all of this support, in terms of contributions and sharing the project with your friends.

Yesterday I gave the HUD (Heads Up Display) a much needed overhaul, and I thought I'd share it with you guys! Here's how it used to look:

And here's how it looks now!

(I hyperlinked the images because Kickstarter scales them badly) Quite an improvement if I say so myself!

Anyways, we still have a long way to go. If you'd like to see this project get funded, share with your friends (and complete strangers too)! Go on the streets and spread the word, just like a real canvasser! You'll be totally ready when the game comes out!

6/19/12 EDIT:

I have updated the hud yet again. Now it takes up a little less space. Check it out below!
