About this project:
Nine-year-old me would be absolutely flipping out if she knew I was about to release my first record. After recording for nearly 10 months and investing over $6,000 dollars, my debut album sits about 98% complete - and I need your help to push it over the finish line.
What we’ve done:
My wonderful producer, Kevin Veatch, has worked with me to record lead vocals, vocal harmonies, guitars, Andrew Josyln and Rebecca Chung Filice on strings, Aaron Fishburn on stand-up bass, Mike Lopresto on drums, Matt Price on percussion, Micaela Cooley on cello and Hanna Stevens on piano. Kevin himself has played banjo, lead guitars, dobro, piano, organ and mixed the whole thing beautifully. Hilary McMullen has shot the album art and Leah Vendl has created a beautiful album design. The finished product is going to be decadent!
How you can help:
I am asking for your help to finish funding this project. To reach completion, the album needs to be mastered, Kevin needs the last portion of his producer fees and the album needs to be mastered, packaged and delivered to my house – about $4,500. On top of that I need an extra 10% (around $580) for Kickstarter fees and taxes, and need to have enough left over to purchase merch for everyone who contributes to this campaign – a grand total of $5,800. Anything raised past that amount will go toward a tour down the coast this spring. Can we do it? I think so!
Any financial contribution you can make to this project means the world to me. Your support throughout the years has been jaw dropping - thank you so much for everything you have done, and for helping to make this record a reality.
Risks and challenges
1) We only have 30 days to reach our goal! This means spreading the word like it’s everybody’s business and asking folks to contribute. If we don’t reach $5,800, this project receives 0% of all funds raised through this campaign. That’s a lot of pressure! But it’s worth it and I know we can do it. All money raised here will go directly towards producer fees, performer pay, merchandise, album art and layout, mixing, mastering, CD replication, and shipping!
2) Every moment of this recording process has been absolutely life altering. Of course that doesn’t mean that it hasn't come without its hiccups. All of the research and preparation I did leading up to recording (and it was years’ worth) could not have prepared me for actually diving into this process. Having emerged on this end, however, it is clear to me that with a little good humor, perseverance, and a strong support system; any problem in or outside of the studio can be solved.
This has been an amazing journey. Thank you for being a part of it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
