“World of Colors”, the first mobile game in the “Lalan ou Aran” series successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2015, generated a highly enthusiastic response in Armenian children around the world. Encouraged by the feedback, Hamazkayin released the second mobile app, “World of Shapes” on both iOS & Android markets.
Similar to its predecessor, “World of Shapes” also has the same two main characters, Lala & Ara, who accompany players aged three and up through the game and give them instructions to complete its various phases.
At the outset of the game, the child selects one of the main eight shapes and plays four games in that shape. These games help the child to learn the eight basic shapes, and they foster the child’s ability to distinguish them. Moreover, they cultivate the child’s aesthetic taste, sharpen visual focus skills, and expand span of attention. Finally, by recognizing the geometry of shapes, the child will improve his or her geometric vocabulary.
Developing a game for mobile devices entails tremendous amounts of effort, time, and financial resources. From the planning phase to the release of the application, followed by its ongoing maintenance. Subsequently, the team creating the game must complete several exciting parts of the project: Concept development, ideas, pedagogical considerations, illustrations, graphic design, music creation, scripts, voice-over recordings, coding and programming, testing, launching, and finally, marketing. Our adventure does not stop there. We maintain our applications continuously, make them compatible with the latest devices, and keep on producing innovative apps.
With your help, we would like to make our Lala & Ara: World of Shapes app available for FREE on iOS & Android devices, so the largest possible number of children can download and benefit from it. This, in turn, leads to furthering the circulation of the Armenian language around the world, via our fun and educational games. In order to provide children the best experience when using our apps, we make them free from advertisements, which makes it harder to generate revenues.
Thus we rely on your generous contribution to continue our work. Any additional revenues will be marked for our upcoming game, Lala & Ara: World of Letters which is currently being developed.

Risks and challenges
Because the app is ready for publication, we do not foresee any major risks. Our main challenge is maintaining the compatibility of the app with future iOs and Android platforms, in order to create a pleasant and smooth transitional experience for our users. On the other hand, we are striving to market and distribute the “World of Shapes” game globally, to achieve the success of its predecessor, the “World of Colors."Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
