Welcome to my Second and very ambitious Kickstarter! 2018 brought a lot of challenges and changes in my personal life, and one of the things that has been carrying me through the bad and good is this simple challenge. "Be BRAVE enough to FAIL"
This inspiration came from a few places, challenging myself to write, to draw, to put myself more out into the world by starting a Patreon page to really build a support system for my work. For years I felt too crippled to even try let alone feel that I had any chance of success in any creative endeavor.
However, as an avid Critical Role fan (a D&D Stream on Twitch and YouTube), I fell in love with the player's ability to own all their 'failures'. Natural 1 failure roles brought profound character development which started to inspire character and art in numerous fans, including myself. So I started writing more. Painting more. Realizing I learned way more about myself in the things I did and failed in than anything I never tried to do. The continued strong encouragement that we can not achieve something without failing a few times first. What's the point of learning something if we already know it, right?
Before we can ever succeed, we have to learn to fail. So Fail Often, Fail Beautifully, Fail with Purpose.
After my last successful campaign, this time I wanted to have all three available in one go! So all the little added shinies that I love adding to everything I mail out, these are my stretch goals.
February/March - Finance Processing and Ordering
March - Survey's close
April - Production & Processing
May/June - Shipping
The cost breakdown for the Coins and Pins starts with the cost of the production and shipping supplies. The first main goal covers the production, and Kickstarter fees.
Shipping will be processed after the Kickstarter to ensure accurate processing. This will also allow for additional add-on as desired.
If this breaks an obscene number I will certainly look into some other add-ons such as easels for the coins or something shiny. Also, if production numbers grow insane, the shipping date may get pushed strongly into June/July as I am a one Woman team with an enthusiastic 7 year old who likes stuffing envelopes.
Risks and challenges
As this is my second Kickstarter, I feel confident in the process and having every pledge met. Although if this exceeds my expectations it may cause some delays in shipping purely because I am but one person, however, I make a point of keeping my doors open and communication flowing freely.
As the initial goal is to keep this simple, I am also giving an extra month for shipping these out as a precaution, though I foresee this to not be an issue. International shipping may take longer... because of international shipping.
I have the proofs approved and ready to go into production the moment the funding comes in to cover the cost.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
