Whaddup, y’all!

We’ve just launched our Kickstarter for WHITE, the second part of the trilogy that started with our critically acclaimed graphic novel, BLACK.

It’s hard to believe that three years ago we took a chance that people might back the concept: “what if only black people had superpowers.” It was an idea partially borne out of not seeing black people in positions with agency and how that results in a lack of representation in comics.

BLACK was focused on the main character, Kareem, being thrust into a world within a world and for the most part his singular perspective of events. We brought the reader along on his journey of finding out he has amazing powers and being caught in the clandestine struggle between small factions in opposition.

In WHITE, we’re looking to broaden the scope of the story to the larger world. How does a nation struggling with a history of racial inequality manage when only black people have superpowers? What does that do to people brought up to believe they are of higher status by birthright? It’s an intriguing mindset to examine this world through THADDEUS’ viewpoint. As the son of President THEODORE MANN, he’s the polar opposite of Kareem – so I hope you all enjoy reading this part of the trilogy.

Much like the previous book, I worried that I’d be addressing concepts that were outdated, but reality has shown we’ve still got a long way to go.

Thank you for your continued support.
