About this project
We have decided to remove the project from Kickstarter. Several opportunities to fund the project privately have become available which we would like to pursue.
We greatly appreciate those who supported the project and although their pledge will not be taken we will still provide a 'Scars - The Third Reich in Ruins' supporters pack once the project is complete (regardless of pledged amount) which will include the Blu-ray as way of thanks for taking the time to support us.
For more information or to get involved with the project whether as a volunteer or in a more offical capacity as an Executive Producer please contact us at www.scarsproject.co.uk
These ruins along with their incredible stories represent a warning from history, a warning that is slowly fading into the dust. Some have rightly been made into official memorials, others stand alone, unseen in the wilderness and many are being redeveloped and disappearing fast.
"Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it"
This is a quote from Spanish philosopher George Santayana and perfectly sums up our desire and motivation to bring this project to life. We have seen countless shows on the Nazis, many of which follow a well-trodden path. Well, we want to do something different, something that will re-engage an audience both young and old, something entertaining and adventurous with benefit to education, preservation and remembrance.
This will be the largest collective record of the remaining ruins of the Third Reich in Western Europe and is the first outing for The SCARS Project which hopes to make continued documentary / photography explorations within the battlefields of our history. A cinematic yet educational and historical resource with detailed World War I/II history, shedding new light on these monolithic structures.

We thank you sincerely for taking the time to check it out and if you have pledged, then get ready to be part of something very unique, thought provoking and of historical importance. Thank you.
Risks and challenges
Time is an issue. Although we recognise these events as permanent scars on the psyche, the physical scar of the landscapes we look to document are slowly fading. Many areas are being redeveloped and knocked down some slowly reclaimed by nature, the sea. This photographic record cannot begin too soon!
There are a vast amount of miles to cover and countless locations to document. Some are hidden away, some need permissions / permits.
However, we have already begun forging great relationships with many of the museums and custodians associated with these incredible locations. Promoting tourism to the regions and sparking new interest in the subject matter.
As a production team we have a proven track record of completed projects. Our team is made up of well travelled, multi-skilled and multilingual members with vast experience in project management both at home and abroad. Documentaries require an adaptive crew and a knowledgeable production team, which we feel is exactly what we have.
