Hi again you lovely people!

We’re continuing to climb, that is simply amazing :D We just entered the last 24 hours of the campaign, and we just can’t believe we’ve come this far. Today it’s even Norway’s national day, so the entire country is already dressing up to celebrate :)

Oculus Rift, Commentary track & new Stretch Goal!

After the wonderful ice cream, we’ve reached an additional two stretch goals! The proper Oculus Rift implementation, and the in-game Commentary Track featuring thoughts and anecdotes from the development of Among The Sleep.

We can’t wait to share the results of this with you.

As we have mentioned, we are very satisfied with the existing design of Among the Sleep, but there are numerous things we’d like to do on the side of the game itself. And because you lovely people keep contributing, we’ve added the next Stretch Goal to the list!

Supersecret free DLC! We’ve been so inspired by all your input and feedback during the last weeks, that we’d love to spend some time after release and develop a free DLC in collaboration with our wonderful backers! Everyone with access to the backer-forums would be invited to join in the creative process. Keeping it separate from the main AtS story should also give us all the creative freedom we would like! What could become of it? The possibilities are endless!

Among the Sleep on PS4?

We’re glad to finally be able to announce our dialogues with Sony, regarding a potential console release! We don’t want to promise anything yet, but we’ve been talking with them for a while, and are now in the process of ironing out the details. We have yet to nail what a quality port would demand from us as well, but things are looking bright!

We want as many people as possible to be able to play Among the Sleep, so we would love to make the PS4-version possible.

Stereoscopic video for Oculus Rift dev-kits!

We have recorded an in-game video while running Oculus Rift, so that all of you with dev-kits can get a feel for the in-game scale and perspective! Be cautious though, when you do not control the movement yourselves, it’s much easier to get motion sick.

Also, keep in mind that we’ve had very little time to implement it yet, hence the Stretch Goal. The implementation is far from finished, and this video is just an opportunity for a quick feel :)

Livestreaming the final hours!

We’ll be livestreaming the final hours of the campaign tomorrow, counting down in unison! We will start about two hours before touch down, at 7am PST / 10am EDT / 4pm CEST, and keep it going past the finishing line.

The streaming-link will be found on the Kickstarter front page tomorrow. You are all invited to join in, and discuss or ask us questions etcetera. I’ve also heard some rumors about Amnesia gaming, for entertainment purposes.

      Well, apparently it is both easier to develop for, and easier to become a developer for, the PS4 than the PS3 (Minis notwithstanding)... so here's to hoping :)

      I'd personally be happier top see this make it to the Ouya more than the big boys. I love that their system is breaking the mold for traditional console licensing requirements, plus it was a fellow kickstarter project. I can understand the current rationale, but it doesn't excite me, personally.

      You can't be serious about this video on YouTube. They are scaling this down to 30 fps and 720p. For a proper Rift Video you need exactly 1280x800 and 60 fps - nothing else (see https://developer.oculusvr.com/forums/viewtopic.php…). Could
      you please provide us a download to the original so we can really see what it looks like? Thank you :-)

      Ooo, I absolutely can't wait for this. That video REALLY got me in the mood for it. :D But definitely don't rush things on our accounts. A quality product, no matter what it is, must never be rushed, and is always worth the wait. ;)

      I've really been hoping for an Xbox release since that's the only console I have. I don't even own my own computer. So I'm still crossing my fingers for that Xbox release guys

      As much as I think that this game should be on all platforms so everyone can experience it... with so many Indie devs speaking out about their horrible experiences dealing with Microsoft I hope that you guys never have to go through that experience. Hopefully if you can bring this to XBL your experience will be better than most. It's exciting to see Sony really making sure there's a place for indie devs on their system. It's stuff like this that's secured my purchase of a PS4. I can't wait for The rift with this, can't wait for the PS4 with this, hell I can't wait for this game. Loved the Alpha and congrats on all your success it's well deserved.

      Really enjoyed the Rift demo. One thing that I think is incredibly important in terms of maintaining an atmosphere of fear is not being able to clearly define what you are afraid of.
      As we fear what we do not understand, seeing a 'monster' that we can categorise into one shape and one form of behaviour, we lose what really terrified us - not knowing all the possibilities.

      If you watch the movie Mama (2013) what scares you most about her is what you don't see.
      Please take care to use effects such as a blurred mist around the character. Shadows are your friends and don't forget that just as you are basing this journey off the imagination of a child, do not discredit how capable our own minds as adults are capable of turning a vague shape into a terror of our own imaginations. Dis-coordination of physical features, dis-coordination of empathy (tricking us into feeling sorry for the terror?...) and any tricks that will force us to unlearn what we expect to work in running from a monster is where the adrenalin really lives.

      I am so super excited for all of you guys and cannot wait to join the forums! :)
