iSotto Frame + iSotto App for iPad = The Best Digital Picture Frame... SERIOUSLY.
Apple's iPad is a very powerful device--yes, even the first-generation. It only makes sense to use its advanced, connected technology to display your pictures and videos. But aren't your pictures scattered throughout your iPhone, Instagram, Dropbox, and more? And don't you wish you had a way to showcase all of them without wrecking your perfect home decor?
Enter iSotto. iSotto Frame is the next evolution frame that fits any generation iPad, finally creating that perfect showcase for all your photos. It’s essentially finishing what Apple started by providing an encasement for the powerful technology behind iPad. And with the iSotto app, you can pull in photos from photo storage sites, as well as social media; you can control every aspect of your slideshow, even from your iPhone; and lastly, you can sit back and enjoy the newest, most relevant photos with our exclusive feature, Considered Rotation.
Keep your photos on Instagram, Facebook, Dropbox, etc, and say "NO" to a confusing, new ecosystem.
The frame itself is sleek, modern and gorgeously minimalistic—the product of a great design team thinking through every detail: clean edges and curves, smooth satin finish, and a magnetic back cover. It’s a home decoration that fits seamlessly into any aesthetic style, which makes it a great gift for yourself or someone you love. And since the display is the iPad screen itself, you won’t see pixelated, low-quality photos like you would on other frames. Instead, your images will have the sharp, vivid colors and great contrast that was intended.
The iSotto App is only free for iSotto Frame owners.
- Aggregate photos from social media and photo storage sites, retaining album info, etc.
- Ability to select specific albums; specific photos; photos from specific users on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc; and photos with specific hashtags.
- Choice to either download images from online sources or to stream them.
- Create different sets for different occasions.
- Controls for video on/off, volume, timing, transitions, maximum video length, weather/time display, breaking news, sports updates, and more.
- Control all of these features from your iPad, and remotely from your iPhone!
- And most importantly, Considered Rotation.
Considered Rotation is a complex system that displays the newest, most relevant photos. So, say you're on vacation in Puerto Rico and your parents are at home in wintery New York. You just took an amazing video of your kids chasing each other on the beach, and you share it on Facebook, or privately, through iCloud Photo Sharing. With Considered Rotation, the video will jump ahead of the current queue and display immediately on iPad. But still, what happens if Grandma wasn't in the living room at that very moment? No problem! The newest media will be given high-priority and will display frequently throughout the day.

Style & Finish for iSotto Collection: Stainless Steel Edition
Whether or not you own an iPad, iSotto Frame is for you.
If you own an iPad, iSotto Frame is an awesome accessory. iSotto Frame is the place to store your iPad whether it sits around, collecting dust or whether you use it all the time. Or maybe you only use your iPad for travel, or maybe you keep it aside when entertaining guests. No matter the case, it’s super easy to slip your iPad right in (or out) and display your most cherished moments. And while your iPad is being used out of iSotto Frame, the frame acts as a traditional 5” x 7” frame, hosting your best printed pictures.
Why use an old iPad in iSotto Frame? After just a few years, iPads become obsolete. Basic apps stop getting updates and your iPad sits while technology advances. One area that isn’t affected is photo viewing and slideshows. You can still wirelessly sync new pictures instantly, even on the first generation iPad. And with iSotto Frame, you can still use your old iPad for whatever else you’d like because it’s so easy to insert and remove. While your iPad isn’t in the frame, your favorite 5” x 7” is visible.
Why iSotto Frame over a digital picture frame? iSotto Frame combined with a compatible tablet is the best showcase for your world of digital photos. Really! Check out this recent Wall Street Journal article detailing the many faults of current digital frames on the market. One that particularly bothers us is that fact that you have to learn to work with an entirely new ecosystem--some cumbersome work. To sum up the article, Michael Hsu recommends buying a digital photo frame costing $100+ and attaching it to a standard 4” x 6” frame using tape, putty, and clips to hide the ugly borders. And to hold the frame upright, he says to use a wire plate stand. This is the solution?!
Rather than attempt that, do yourself a favor and buy a cheap tablet that’s compatible with iSotto Frame. We recommend Apple’s iPad as Apple products are ubiquitous nowadays. Between iTunes, iCloud, and the iSotto app, iPad works wonders for instantly and seamlessly updating pictures. Even if it’s a used, first generation iPad, it’s unfortunately better than the current options of digital frames (for the price-- ~$100). For beauty, house it in iSotto Frame, a truly perfect showcase that cannot be matched any other way.
How is Chef Grant MacPherson involved? Simple! Grant MacPherson was the Executive Chef at the Wynn Las Vegas. Throughout the past eleven years, we worked with him to develop great products for the luxury hospitality industry. After introducing him to iSotto Frame, he gave us the idea to take advantage of our patent pending technology in the kitchen. We’ve been collaborating since and are excited to get to work on our next project!
Your Name, Etched in the Packaging
If you back our project (selecting almost any reward), your name will be etched into the packaging of each and every iSotto Frame sold. Here's an idea of what it'll look like:
*Backers of all reward levels (except The Signature & The Store Keeper) will get their names printed on the packaging of every iSotto Frame. Backers can choose to opt-out of name 'etching.'
**iSotto Collection: Stainless Steel Edition is not available at this reward level.
***Special insert currently being designed.
Risks and challenges
With every project, there are unforeseen challenges and obstacles that arise. That's what makes this adventurous.
Since 2003, the KoSCH team has been designing and manufacturing products overseas and has imported them to countries around the world. Our core competencies are design, manufacturing, quality control, and importing.
As we like to say, if it were easy, anyone would do it. We are excited about the challenge but are confident we can deliver iSotto Frame in time for the holidays. We have already sourced materials and have manufacturers lined up in Asia, US, and Mexico to complete the project. Plenty of extra time was added into our estimated delivery dates in case of any issues. We will keep you updated throughout the entire process with both good and bad news.
There are fragile parts including the glass which may incur damages during shipping. We are working with a leading shipping company to prevent this. In any case, we will stand by our product and provide replacements for those that receive damaged frames.
One Frame, Any iPad
This promise is true as long as Apple doesn't release new sizes. As of this writing, there are two different iPad screen sizes available: 9.7" & 7.9".
We have backed over forty projects on Kickstarter and have seen delays for all kinds of reasons-- we are well aware of the possibilities. Some of the biggest challenges for others involve fulfillment. We have been in touch with many third-party companies to find the very best solution. As of now, we don't foresee any issues in this area, but anything is possible.
As written above, we have plenty of experience in manufacturing, but despite this, things can get complicated. Raw material prices can change, and factories can become unreliable. To account for that, we have padded our delivery times, and lined up additional factories in the US and Mexico to ensure timely delivery.
