Tales of Terrene is an action role playing game based in the fantasy themed world of Terrene. The game draws you in with its detailed level design, immerse story line, and a memorable cast. The real time based combat is dynamic and fluid allowing you to experience the game without being bogged down by overwhelming battle systems. The world itself is inapt with lore and mystery as ensuing battles and confrontation consume the land. ToT is a top down, real time combat based game. Utilizing the Unity engine and Dolby inspired 7.1 sound channels. Our goal with Tales of Terrene is to rekindle a sense of nostalgia and fantasy that many of us fell into early in gaming. Terrene is an open world with vast zones to explore and plenty of quest and lore to dive into. Beginning a new adventure will being you to character selection where the player may choose between a series of pre-rendered champions with back stories of their own. We felt that this needed to be expanded upon a bit so we added a profession system that allows the player to customize their hero to a play style they find appealing. whether it be a sword wielding brawler or a cloaked thief wielding a blade, the adventure will always be different.
Terrene is a mythic land with a troubled history, and it is imperative that we convey that sense of desolation and mystery that cloaks the world. Using diverse ambient for each zone and professional voice acting will set the stage for whats to come. Although we are a two man team we plan to add more members to our staff that share our vision to gain the authentic feel Terrene deserves.
We've turned to Kickstarter and its fantastic community of independent game fans! By supporting our Kickstarter goal, we can complete game production with 3D models that are worthy of Terrene. Additional funds will give us the capability to include more 3D modeling in the game, and hire animators and graphic artist to enhance the game play experience even further.While there are many other gaming projects on Kickstarter, we believe we’re not just making one game but instead reinventing the way game development is done. By not pumping out games every month we are adding that personal touch that encompassed the games of old which laid the ground work for everything today. Its time the gamers went back to creating the games and left the corporate world to the suits. Now is the time, Rise up!

Is $20,000 enough to create a title of this level?
When you think of usual developing fees, $20,000 is definitely not enough to create a title like this. However being indie has its advantages! We are professionals in our own right. We build games, its what we do. We do not take a salary! We donate our time and effort into developing games we feel others would enjoy. Our reward will come through the fans’ evaluation of the game and a %-based royalty of all sales. This is the reason why our project will never fail due to lack of finance after we reach our goal. It is possible to release our game with just our developers' work, but there is one cost that we just cannot ignore in order to make the highest quality video game. Our pledge, $20,000 will be used for one of the best 3D modeling out there. This figure is the most minimum cost required. What does it mean to be indie? We are independent game developers. We are self taught and honed our skills though several years of experience on all levels. We didn't go to a fancy school or anything of the sort. But we have dedicated thousands of hours of creativity with a mix of trial and error till we became Masters of the gaming arts!
Are you considering releasing the game on iOS/Android?
We have looked into the initial cost of what it would take to move to a platform like the iOS and Android and although it is fees able we are unsure at the present moment.

You will be flown out to California here in the United States where we will spend the day! Well show you Kortex Studios in all its glory and give you an in debt look at what it takes to create a title on such a scale. For our local backers we will instead pick you up in style. flight,food, lodging all paid for!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
As with any project there are risk and hurdles that you must overcome and build upon. We are operating as a two man team with extremely limited funds and manpower, but we will not be detoured from our present goal.
As many of you might know this is our second attempt on Kickstarter and we have returned stronger and more self reliant than ever. We have been busy developing an even more compelling story line as well as NEW original content for our backers.
The only issue we perceive to be a potential problem is funding. Gaining monetary funding is always a stunt in which small indie teams run into, but hopefully with help from our supporters we can overcome such an obstacle.
