Frequently Asked Questions
At the time of this campaign - all of our belts fit from 20 inches UP TO 44 inches.
In the near future we will have larger sizes available at - http://www.Trakline.com
The LONG ANSWER: All the belt straps are actually 52 inches in length when shipped to you. But you need this extra length to allow for the belt to pass thru the buckle and insert into a belt loop. The belts have printed trim marks on the back to show you were to cut (with scissors) for your particular size range (see diagram). Then the cut end locks into the buckle securely. It's easy to do and takes less than a minute to do.
The trak is actually 10" long - so if you place your waist size in the middle of the trak - you can go up or down 5". Let's hope it's down.
We highly recommend trying the belt on before you cut to make sure of your size. If you don't cut any length off from the belt - it will fit a 44 inch waist comfortably with some room to expand (4").
You can also change out belt straps (black to brown for example) easily when you desire. Changing belt straps does not weaken or fray the cut end under normal use. But if it ever would fray - you can re-trim off 1/4 of the frayed end to remedy and renew the belt.
We will have longer belt lengths (over 44") in the near future, probably within 2-3 months available at our online store. Visit - http://www.Trakline.com

We found that the trak system far outlasts traditional belt holes. By this we mean that belt holes will typically appear stretched, split and worn looking within about a year on most belts. Of course this will vary with the quality of leather. The trak system, however, will show little or no wear within this same time frame.
Here's what one Backer said in an email to us >>
"I have had (ratchet style) belts with interchangeable buckles that use teeth to hold the belt on, and after 5 years show little issues of wear. It's always been my standard belts that faced shorter lifespans (with some not even lasting a year). Besides, you can start high and trim if the end somehow rips (but you'd have to be doing some serious pulling to rip leather against multiple pins) - This particular belt has 10 inches of adjustability (which is more than my own sets that only have 7.5") - so that's a good amount of room to trim and breath new life if the end "wears out". "
It's no secret that hole-less belts, with trak systems have been around for many, many years. For the most part developed and popularized overseas. So if you've purchased, owned or seen a belt that you believe is exactly like a Trakline Belt and therefore think our system is nothing new... read on.
First of all, 99% of all the hole-less belts (with a trak) have buckles that utilize a magnet mechanism to engage the trak. This is why most companies selling the buckles, usually don't show you the underside of the buckle - because it's not pretty. It's a funky, flimsy, bulky mechanism.
These magnetic buckles have been selling in the U.S., via several small companies for years. As we've said, it's not new nor is the system patentable.
When we first examined this magnetic system, we initially considered using it for our belts. But upon closer examination and testing, we determined that the buckles were not only too bulky and too flimsy, but also unreliable and not very fashionable. That's a lot of negatives. For example, a third of the dozen sample buckles we had >> broke within a month of usage. Why? Because they were a made using a cheap alloy and the failure rate was relatively high.
From a basic fashion point of view - we felt that the magnetic buckle's bulkiness was holding back its popularity and sales in the U.S. We realize that this just our opinion and you are free to disagree. But consider that we had the opportunity to import this same buckle, forge our logo on it and then resell it too. As a matter of fact, this option would've saved us a lot of time, money and headaches. But we decided against it. True, the magnetic buckle gives a better fit than a traditional buckle, but it just didn't meet our quality, functionality or fashion standards. So we said "no thanks" and took the harder route... to re-design a better buckle from the ground up.
We liked the trak system on the back of the belt, that was good, but we wanted a buckle that was sleek, reliable and stylish. We wanted to make something quality for MEN, that WE would wear. That also meant designing a buckle for men.
After dozens of design sessions, we decided on a simple, spring-loaded caliper system. This method got rid of most of the metal on the back of the buckle, making it much slimmer and lighter. It also made it function much more reliably. Then we made the choice to use solid stainless steel, this made it stronger.
For the belt strap, we decided to use full-grain leather and make the trak 10" long, rather than 7" like it's predecessor. Of course, all this costs more, but we like nice stuff.
The result was Trakline Belt >> a stylish, sleek, quality belt, that most guys can appreciate and wear for years to come.
Because of our efforts, Trakline's unique buckles are PATENT PENDING. We have a very experienced patent attorney working on it now.
