Two Jokers Ride into Town

Welcome to the final 48 hours of the campaign! Things are going to pick up pretty quickly and we expect to see a lot of stretch goals unlock before we reach the end. Let's take a look at what's been unlocked, as well as what's to come.

You pushed us past $450k overnight. As a result, every copy of Western Legends will now include two Joker Cards. These cards will be added to the in-game Poker deck to give you another action that can be used.

Bonus: After you play this card in a fight or game of poker, you may reveal a card in your hand. This card counts as a duplicate of that card: suit, value, and any bonuses. This card is considered a wild on the flop in a game of poker or when played by the dealer.

We will also add the Jokers to the standard poker deck. If you have not added the poker deck to your pledge, now is the time to upgrade to the All-In level and receive a deck of playing cards featuring the stunning artwork by Roland MacDonald. The new Jokers add additional value to this add-on.

Upcoming Stretch Goals

In the last update, we mentioned the additional cattle tokens that will be added to the game at $475k. These new cattle tokens will add new rewards to rustlin' and wranglin'. Let's look at what is to come after them.

At $500k, we will upgrade the prospecting dice to be engraved. We'll also add gold paint to the dice to make the symbols really stand out against the black dice.

When we reach $525k, we will be adding 7 additional bases to the base game. These bases will be the same plastic rings used for the player minis but will be different colors  (brown for the Bandits, gray for the Sheriff). This will give players further flexibility when choosing their player mini. Now you can use one of the Bandit minis - or even the Sheriff - to represent your character on the board. You can also use any other minis in the game as Bandits!

Another Look at the Legendary Items

Now that we are in the final 48 hours of the campaign, there's no better time than now to upgrade your pledge to include the Good, the Bad, and the Handsome expansion. We talked about this expansion back in Update #8, but want to touch on it again here (and show the rest of the Legendary Items available.

As noted in Update #8, the Legendary Items are awarded by the new Story Cards included in the expansion. These 12 items give powerful abilities to the player who finds them. You can get a breakdown of the abilities of these items over on the forums at BGG. The only way to get your hands on these Legendary Items is to make sure you pledge at the Legendary level. These items are included as part of the All-In level as well. Upgrade your pledge now!

We're Pickin' Up Steam!

As you can see, the number of pledges has started to increase. This is a common occurrence when the final 48 hours begin. But we can always do better! Share the campaign page with everyone you know so we can continue to ramp up and unlock stretch goals in these last hours. You can retweet this tweet, or share this Facebook post. Let's finish strong!

And, if you've yet to do so, SUBSCRIBE to Western Legends on BoardGameGeek (BGG).

So if I understand well, the Good, the Bad, and the Handsome expansion will not be available in retail ? Because this is not clearly mentioned on the campaign page.

I'm very excited about the extra bases. I really like those new banded figures. And it would be nice to have that flexibility to play with those as actual player minis in the game.
