Word 'Round Town is ...
... more stretch goals have been unlocked!
Thank you for your support. We are humbled by your excitement for Western Legends. Your continued enthusiasm drives us to deliver the absolute best product that we can. Since our last update, you've pushed us past the $165,000 mark and have unlocked more fun for your copy of the game.
At $140k, you unlocked an alternate Bandit miniature sculpt - the Desperado. The Desperado will replace three of the standard "Robber" Bandit minis. This means that you will now receive two unique Bandits (three of each) to enhance your gameplay experience.
When we reached $150k, we unlocked another alternate player miniature - the Gentleman. Like the Cowboy that was unlocked earlier in the campaign, the Gentleman gives you another way to portray your persona as you trek across the prairie and build up your legendary status. You will find the Gentleman as part of the Fistful of Extras expansion.
All of the miniatures in Western Legends are hand-sculpted by the talented team at Pure Arts (Kemet, Inis). The work that comes out of their studio is stunning and Pure Arts is one of the last studios still producing hand-sculpted miniatures. You're going to love how they look!
Since you pushed us past the $165k mark, we're unlocking a NEW CHARACTER for you! Allan Pinkerton is being added to the Fistful of Extras expansion. This brings the total number of available characters to 15 in the base game (and 18 if you pledged for the Good, the Bad, and the Handsome expansion). Adding new characters adds to the replay value of the game, along with new abilities to use and new gameplay strategies to explore.
Allen Pinkerton was a Scottish American detective and spy, best known for creating the Pinkerton National Detective Agency. During the Civil War, he was the head of the Union Intelligence Service, as well as an abolitionist collaborator. His work led to the establishment of the Federal secret service. As the U.S. expanded in territory, rail transport, and train robberies, became commonplace. In his life, Pinkerton relentlessly pursued the likes of notorious outlaws like Jesse James and the Reno Gang.
The next two stretch goals add more content - and decisions - to your game. When we reach $180k, we'll add a new Item Card - the Holster. Once we unlock this goal, we'll fill you in on what this item does for you in your quest to become the most legendary. At $200k, we'll add four more Story Cards. Both of these stretch goals, when unlocked, will find their home in the Fistful of Extras expansion.
Just For Fun
We have received some pictures of our miniatures, fully painted by Raphael Biolluz, and thought we'd share them with you. PLEASE NOTE: the miniatures in Western Legends do not come painted. For those of you that enjoy painting your own miniatures, maybe you'll find some inspiration in these.
Don't Forget ...
We have a couple of social stretch goal contests going on over on the Forums at BoardGameGeek (BGG). Head on over and get your suggestions in for the "Choose an Expansion Character" and "Man in Black Flavor Text" contests. Your suggestion could end up in the game! Also, if you have not already done so, SUBSCRIBE to Western Legends on BGG.
Thanks again, friends. We'll see you in the next update!
