Day Two Update
Good morning, backers! Travis from Kolossal here.
Lots to cover in this update, which will be solely dedicated to answers questions we have collected from the first full day of the campaign. Again, we want to thank all of you for your patience while we have been working behind the scenes to best address questions en masse. Keep the feedback coming, good, bad, or otherwise. Your thoughts and passion are fuel for what we do and how we do it. While we understand that we will not be able to please everyone, we will endeavor to be creative and thoughtful with how we approach all feedback. We do ask to check the FAQs, as we continue to provide information there to address concerns and questions efficiently.
We are currently working on subsidizing shipping to areas like Australia and China. Knowing we have support in those particular regions helps us approximate quantities and course correct. Kolossal has done been able to adjust shipping to regions. While we do not have those answers at this moment, Kira (our CEO) is exploring the options as we speak. So please be sure to comment here or in the general comments if you are in one of those regions. Shipping is expensive, complex, but being armed with information helps us to help you.
PRICING & WORLDS AFAR
Though we are still awaiting a quote to give an approximate price on what the base game will be in retail, I can confirm, at the minimum, it will be $139.99. Additionally, the content that comprises the Galactic Counselor will later be broken into different products--likely the human fleet ships and mini-expansions in one, while the stretch goal content for Worlds Afar will be in another.
We apologize for the confusion regarding Worlds Afar. For backers, this will be packaged with the human fleet and mini-expansions into a single box while the base game will be in another. This is a lot of content and shipping dimensions being a factor, keeping it to two boxes allows us to not have higher shipping costs for our backers.
Some backers have asked why all of the content was not spoiled for Worlds Afar upon launch. Firstly, we need stretch goals for the campaign. The goals that populate this expansion will have a cost for late adopters. Secondly, any material content has a cost attached to it. As such, we have more content planned like miniatures which are tied to specific funding amounts. It would not be possible to provide these upon launch without knowing what funding would be. To be safe, we made sure to not end up in a situation where we ran out of content Now that we have funded and have established a cadence with our backers, we can thoughtfully adjust the goals so our backers can see their support being rewarded. Expect all future stretch goals not yet spoiled to be more substantial rewards. And yes, there will be new unseen content for this campaign.
