Barrels Out Of Bond

Posted by KolibriOS Project Team (Creator)

Dear backers! We sincerely apologize for 3 months silence, which was caused by series of unfortunate events:

1) Yours truly (Yogev Ezra), the creator of this campaign on Kickstarter and maintainer of the updates, had a very intensive summer at his regular full-time job, including moving to new offices and working on a time-demanding project. Remember, we are all volunteers at KolibriOS, and sadly our real-life commitments sometimes need to have preference. Thankfully, the crazy period for me is now over, and I am back to managing this campaign, with weekly updates once again.
2) One of our two appointed students, Shikhin, had a sad family event - his maternal grandfather passed away on July 17th, just one month after Shikhin started working on his selected summer task. The student has asked for a leave of absence to participate in mourning ceremonies, and until recently, we didn't know whether he is returning to the project or not (and in case he doesn't, should we try to find another student, which is unlikely considering the winter semester starts soon, or refund the money to all backers and cancel our campaign, which would have been very disappointing for us). Much to our happiness, Shikhin decided to come back to us once his mourning period was over. Might his family know no more sorrow in the future.

Due to the events outlined above, we unfortunately have to postpone our deadlines a bit further: students summer project completion deadline was moved one month back, and is now October 17th instead of September 17th. Rewards shipment would be delayed by one month as well, and the current estimate for rewards shipping is the first week of October, so you should be receiving them at the same time as the student project completes. We are sorry again for all the delays, and sincerely hope for your understanding.

Next update is due by September 19th. In that update we would describe the USB flash disk procurement process.
