Koko Monk Chocolates has created a delicious new way to enjoy hot chocolate at home with the introduction of its new Hot Chocolate Cubes.
Organic, vegan*, and free of refined sugars, chemicals and preservatives, these “ready to brew” cubes-of-goodness will provide a blissful sensory experience.
Easy to use and always tasty, our Hot Chocolate Cubes make it possible for you to enjoy our products wherever you are.
We first launched our business in Kitsilano (Vancouver) in 2013, and since then, we have won some major media attention, including a spot on BuzzFeed’s “27 of the Greatest Places in the World to get Hot Chocolate,” Chatelaine Magazine’s “10 of the Most Insanely Decadent Mugs of Hot Chocolate Across Canada,” and Travelzoo's "9 of the Most Insane Hot Chocolates You Need to Try This Winter" .
Our 14 unique flavors of hot chocolate includes A Non-Conformist’s Plea for an Imaginary Summer (tomato hot chocolate with rose and raspberry), Strange Gravity (oregano hot chocolate with melon and a touch of anise), and Brunette Bangle (curry hot chocolate with coconut liquor).
These Hot Chocolate Cubes are the brew-at-home version of some of our most popular flavors: Authentic Hot Chocolate, Turkish Mocha, and Matcha Tea White Hot Chocolate*.
*Please note that the Matcha Tea version of these cubes contain milk solids and therefore it is the only one that is not vegan, but using organic coconut milk to make this hot chocolate will create the most delicious version of it.
We are turning to you, friends of good food, for help raising $10,000.
Our goal is to fund the equipment needed for two purposes:
1. To open a second Koko Monk Chocolates store. The new store will be located on West Broadway in the Kitsilano neighbourhood. We look forward to opening in Fall 2018.
2. The new, bigger location will allow us to begin producing the ‘brew at home ’ version of our hot chocolate in even more delicious flavours, as well as helping us to meet demand for the full line of Koko Monk bean-to-bar chocolate bars.
We are also excited to share that the new location will include a hot chocolate cafe -- a dedicated area of the store where our valued guests can sit with friends and enjoy a cup of our designer hot chocolate.

Rich in minerals and antioxidants, our hot chocolates are just what you need to start or finish any day right.
Blended from single-origin, organic cacaos and bean-to-bar chocolates originating all the way from Mexico to Bolivia, our products are beyond candy.
We do not use African beans due to ethical reasons. We work directly with cacao farmers and cooperatives and fair trade, organic organizations.
Risks and challenges
The issues might be related with the mechanical aspect of the production or packaging stage of the ordered pledges. Either way we are alert and ready to address any problem that life can impose on us.
