The Knights of Vasteel, creators of the popular NPC For Hire and Magwa's Magic Item Compendium card decks, are back with Volume II of Magwa's Magic Item Compendium. Like the first volume, this deck will contain 52 magic item illustrations for treasure hungry RPG Players. Each card has been crafted to immerse game masters and players alike into a world of magic.
We have a history of running successful Kickstarter projects, and this is one you don’t want to miss. If you want to check out our track record, take a look at some of our other campaigns: NPC For Hire, NPC For Hire: Fantasy Races, NPC For Hire: Heroes & Villains, Magwa's Magic Item Compendium: Volume I.
What is Magwa’s Magic Item Compendium?
Magwa is the foremost magic item expert in the Vast Kingdom. He has traveled the land collecting, cataloging, and sketching arcane objects. As such, Magwa's Magic Item Compendium is the most complete source of Magic Items in the Vast kingdom.
With the funds of this campaign, we will bring another 52 of Magwa's illustrations to our realm. Volume II will contain 52 poker-size cards with all-new images. These cards can be used in any Fantasy RPG, and like Volume I, the backs have been intentionally left blank so that game masters and players can keep notes and reuse the cards.
The cards are printed on smooth 350gsm card stock. They come in a thematic embossed card box that will only make your game master toolkit that much more awesome. This product is something you can be proud to have displayed on your bookshelf!
Oh, and did we mention there is a protective coating that lets you write on the cards with wet erase markers? While the coating doesn't make them 100% waterproof, It's perfect for keeping a few notes on the back of the cards.
The Backer Compendium
Most Kickstarter campaigns slow down after the first few days and pick up at the end. The middle weeks can really be a drag for creators and backers. We want to spice things up a bit.
During this campaign, we are tapping into our backer collective to create the first ever backer inspired magic item compendium. Backers have the chance to submit their original magic item description and mechanic ideas. We will compile all of our favorite submissions during the campaign into a FREE PDF. Whether the campaign succeeds or fails, every backer will be getting the PDF. It's up to you how awesome it can be!
For this campaign we wanted to do something special for our backers. As we hit our stretch goals will be unlocking 1 page adventures that will be produced after the campaign ends. a page adventures are light on rules and stat blocks, but heavy on story and location. We can't wait to create adventures that are centered around the magic items you will find in the decks. Our free 5E adventure will give you an idea of how these work, although they will be smaller in scope.
Free Mobile App
We initially launched Magwa’s Magic Item Compendium as a mobile app. You can get it for free on the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store. All of the images from this deck can be purchased as in-app purchases in the app. The app is a great place to generate and craft magic items to give to your players, and you can even share the items you create directly from the app so go check it out.
Free PDF Resource Sheet
Through the generosity of our previous backers we were able to produce an awesome magic item resource sheet. It contains loads of magic items descriptions and 5E mechanics. All the content comes packaged nicely in tables so you can roll up a magic item on the fly.

Risks and challenges
Those of you that joined us for the last campaign know that we ended up being a bit behind schedule. This was due to a change in our production and a delay in the shipment from the manufacturer. We've worked out these kinks and are ready to rock this project.
As with any projects, there are unforeseen issues that can arise. Having already successfully delivered four Kickstarter projects, we are confident we can get this one into your hands.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
