A few years ago while living in Istanbul, I wrote and recorded a soundtrack for a film called Kucuk Kiyamet (“Little Apocalypse“), a kind of supernatural, post-traumatic drama centered on Turkey's recent earthquakes. The film was nominated for some Turkish Film Critics Association (SİYAD) awards, including one for the soundtrack. However, the soundtrack CD was never released in Turkey as planned, so I would like to self-release it.
The name of the soundtrack is Shine, and it is already recorded, mixed and mastered. I've started this Kickstarter project to fund the design and manufacture of the physical CD. The funding deadline is October 8, 2010, and no one will be charged for their pledges unless the funding goal is reached by that date. I plan to release the album in November.
The backer rewards include a copy of the CD before the release date, posters, T-shirts, a full digital download of the album, and your name in the liner notes. You'll be able to download bonus tracks and selected album tracks ("Shine" and "Korkma") immediately after you pledge - just click on the Blog tab above after pledging. All backers can access "exclusive updates" on the Blog page, where I will post some more bonus tracks, video, album artwork concepts, and artwork proofs leading up to the release.
UPDATE Sept 17, 2010: Now available on the Blog page immediately upon pledging: 2 album tracks: "Shine" and "Korkma" + 2 bonus tracks: "KK Teaser" and "KK Trailer"
International shipping is included in your pledge! (Posters will be shipped folded. An option for rolled poster shipment in a separate tube will be made available before items ship.)
Here is the "Shine" track list:

You can upgrade to another reward at any time up until October 8. I'll collect all details (real names, mailing addresses, T-shirt sizes, etc.) at the end of funding. After pledging, please help spread the word about the project by using the links below the video.... Thanks!
Some people have asked about pledging with Paypal. If you're unable to pay using Kickstarter but would still like to contribute, you can use PayPal by clicking here. The same rewards apply.
