We love to incorporate color into our products, especially when it comes to anodized aluminum!
We need your vote!
We want your help in choosing which color we do next once our stretch goal is met. Since we'll need to start the new color right away, we will use the results that are current at the time the project ends. We will then post an update with which one we'll be going with. We are engineers, foodies and inventors so while looking around our kitchens, it was easy to find several opportunities where we could improve on products that were old, tired and void of any recent innovation or improved design. The rolling pin, a staple item in every kitchen, had to be reborn.
We developed a handful of prototypes not knowing if anyone would feel the same as we did, but after unveiling to industry buyers at the 2014 International Home & Housewares Show in Chicago, we were confident that this product was going to be a hit. The response was incredible...we literally had people stopping in their tracks saying, "I don't care what it is, I just want it," those are the Steve Jobs moments you dream about.
Gourmet cooking along with inventive cooking tools such as the rolling pin can be traced back as far the ninth century B.C. in Northern Italy. Materials have ranged from hard clay, wood, glass, marble, ceramics, stainless steel and silicone. Nana's wooden pin may be a great keepsake, but it can be hard to keep clean from bacteria living inside the wood grain. Marble keeps chilled wonderfully, but is often very heavy. At KMN, there are two things we have always felt can make any product better..LEDs or anodized aluminum. We stopped short of blinking lights, but we're thrilled to have a product that not only looks beautiful, but functions brilliantly as well. It stays incredibly chilled like marble so heat does not transfer to the dough, we can control the weight of each rolling pin regardless of length and the anodized finish allows laser engraved measurements for that perfect size crust.
Our vision is to offer a variety of sizes however we have chosen to refine the most popular size you may find in any gourmet kitchen store.

What truly makes the Anodized Aluminum Rolling Pin unique is the combination of elegance and functionality.

Risks and challenges
Of course there are many risks and challenges to any project. We are prepared for these challenges. We have been down this road before when we developed our DrawerDecor product. We had many prototypes, design changes, worked through several manufacturers both local and overseas to get everything right. Life is a process of learning and overcoming. That is what makes projects like this so fun, it is something new everyday.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
