Welcome, Travelers and Adventurers! My name is Katelyn McCaigue, and I am the beast-master of this realm! I hear you have been seeking new creatures to test your might against. Well, you are in luck! Let me show you my Creature Compendium!
The Complete McCaigue Creature Compendium: Volume 1 is the perfect book for Dungeon and Goblin Masters who are looking for new creatures to throw at their tabletop role-playing adventurers. This book will contain 50+ unique monsters ranging from mounts, pack animals, solitary creatures, and boss monsters. There is also a vast variety of land, air, and sea creatures to use in endless scenarios! The book includes the lore of the world these creatures inhabit to create interesting, new environments for your game.
This Creature Compendium is the creation of Katelyn McCaigue, a small-time artist YouTuber, whose favorite thing to draw is—you guessed it—monsters! She has a special segment she runs on her channel called Monster Mash where she creates new animals from diverse character design challenges. Katelyn also loves playing Dungeons and Dragons, so one day she thought, "What if I put my monsters in my favorite tabletop game?" And so The Complete McCaigue Creature Compendium was born!
Check out some of her Monster Mash episodes!
This book will contain over 50 original creature designs, some from the Monster Mash series and some never-before-seen concepts! Each monster will have a dedicated set of stats and abilities you can tailor to your game, a full color illustration, some field note sketches, and a fully-comprehensive lore and backstory. This book will also be built for Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition but the monsters should be flexable enough to use in other role-playing games.
A map and basic lore of the world these creatures live in will also be included in the book, but feel free to use any of these creatures in your own settings! They are diverse and adaptable!...like most animals are.

To give you an idea of where the $6,500 is going, check out the breakdown below. Most of the cost is in producing the books and other rewards. There is a minimum order amount on the books and rewards, so this amount will cover those costs. I plan to order 250 books to distribute to the Kickstarter contributors and to have in stock to take with me to conventions and other events. There is also a 3-5% Kickstarter Fee.
Katelyn McCaigue (Katelyn Blodgett) - Creator, Illustrator and Designer
Michael McCaigue - Brother and Lead Writer/Lore Crafter
Joshua Blodgett - Husband and Assistant Writer/Lore Crafter
Lena Nguyen - Editor and Assistant Writer
Risks and challenges
Since we are a very small team (basically two writers, one editor, and one artist), this book could potentially take longer to create. There also may be unforeseen production time and delays with my printers. I am working with all trusted printers I have used before, but the final quantity raised from this Kickstarter could affect the production timeline.
This is also the second book I have produced with the assistance of Kickstarter, so I am familiar with the process of distributing rewards and keeping all of the patrons up-to-date and informed. I am very confident that the production of this book will go very well!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
