The Splash 25 is the first-of-its-kind fully integrated air-powered backpack. By harnessing the power of air, you get customizable comfort in a fully waterproof design weighing only 21 oz (0.59 kg). The Splash 25 is the embodiment of our goals for a pack. It is Comfortable, Rugged, Lightweight for any adventure when dry protection is essential.
What does it mean to be powered by air? We love air! We believe that by harnessing the power of air your outdoor equipment can be more COMFORTABLE, more RUGGED, and more LIGHTWEIGHT. We have developed a proprietary system for designing inflatable products. We have been designing air-powered products for over 5 years now, and we have been working long and hard on coming out with the best backpack suspension system.
The suspension system powered by air is what we call "Air Frame". The integrated Air Frame provides full suspension to transfer weight to the hips while not impeding motion or maneuverability. The Air Frame allows for adjustable pressure which gives personal customizable comfort. Being powered by air also allows the pack to be buoyant while in the water. Powered by air gives full structure without the weight of heavy foams, metals, or composites.
The pack itself is made of welded durable, lightweight, and fully waterproof 210 denier nylon. The pack features a roll top closure with adjustable top straps, which make it perfect for carrying ropes or other canyoneering gear. The daisy chain on the front of the pack allows for quick attachment of your gear. It features waist and sternum straps with easy air pump access for on-the-fly adjustments to the Air Frame. The beauty of the Air Frame suspension is it is light weight but may still haul up to a 35 lb. load (16 kg).
The problem: Current dry packs are bulky, heavy, have inadequate back support, and oftentimes leak. We love water, but we also love protection from water. We have been on too many adventures when not having the right gear makes us curse the water. Maybe it was the time our phone was in our pack and it was supposed to be dry but instead it got water damage and was ruined. Or maybe the time we would've loved to have our puffy jacket after a cold day on the river to find out it wasn't puffy anymore because of the water. You've been there too! Playing in the water is fun; we've been doing it since we were kids. Why should we change what we take with us on our adventure? So we went to work with our engineers, mad scientists, and gear junkies to come up with the ultimate solution: the Splash 25. Now you can take what you want, where you want, regardless of how much water you will encounter.
Klymit is a comfort innovator that challenges traditional approaches to the conception and fabrication of outdoor equipment. Part engineers, part gear junkies, part mad scientists, and all outdoorsmen, Klymit was conceived under the idea that the experience of outdoor enthusiasts can be enhanced with new technologies and a different approach that yield quantifiably superior products. We thrive on challenges. Where others see problems, we look for solutions in cutting–edge science and technology, harnessing breakthroughs into outdoor products that perform at new levels, so you can reach new heights on your adventures.

Risks and challenges
We have been working hard since our first Kickstarter project in 2012 to streamline our processes to make sure we can deliver quality product on time. We have tried to think of everything prior to launching this project to minimize the risks. This being said there are always things outside of our control, customs & shipping delays, fabric dying issues, Chinese New Year celebrations, production line delay, and the project being so successful we have to order lots of product!
The great news is we have an excellent manufacturer already lined up and sample runs made and ready for bulk production. We have visited their facility to personally inspect and ensure that they can handle the volume we plan to do. We have already done our fabric lab dips and colors are approved. All of the raw materials are easily procured once we release the orders.
It is our goal to make delivery smooth and on time! We give you our full commitment that we will quickly resolve any issues that arrive along the way. Thanks for your support!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
