Why is our design uniquely better?
Travel guitars are naturally more susceptible to be damaged, because they travel of course. We protect the sound producing body by making it out of carbon fiber, protecting it from scratches, dents, and cracks as well as the weather like temperature and humidity. We make the neck out of high quality mahogany and rosewood so that the guitar has the familiar feel of a wooden guitar. You get your wooden feel, with the durability of carbon fiber, all for the affordable price of $380. This guitar is perfect for travelers, ranging from college students, hikers, campers, to business men. Children also will find the guitar incredibly comfortable to learn on because of its compact size, and they don't need to compromise the quality of the sound at all by buying a cheap acoustic.
We use a combination of carbon fiber with other materials to make a uniquely durable sound panel that can still resonate very well. The sound board is the part of the guitar that is most responsible for the sound quality, which is why we spent much of our efforts experimenting with different combinations of materials to achieve that high quality sound while maintaining durability and small size. Durability in this component is especially important because you don't want it to dent or crack, which is highly probable when you travel.
How will your pledge help?
Your support will let us buy the equipment, materials, and the space to launch our company and build the best travel guitar so that you can take your music with you anywhere and not worry about compromising quality or hurting your instrument.
KLOS guitar is sleek, gorgeous and striking. The carbon fiber design gives it a sophisticated, modern look while delivering amazing acoustics.
There are significant drawbacks to the shape of many travel guitars. The KLOS guitar addresses these problems and is very comfortable to play on your knee or with a strap. We have also optimized the size to make it small enough to fit in a backpack, but large enough to give great volume. The compact size and light weight of 3.4 lb, also makes it easier to travel with.
A carbon fiber guitar is less likely to crack, or dent, making it more durable than wood. It is a great alternative for backpacking, camping, traveling and other situations where you want a good sounding guitar, but don't want to worry about it being damaged.
With a price of $400 and $380 EARLY BIRD, you get a superior, innovative, durable and great sounding guitar at about 1/3 the price of many competitor’s models. Our retail price after the Kickstarter will be about $500 so if you support us now you'll get 20% off the future price.
"I love guitar and I love taking it with me wherever I go, which is why I finally invested in one of those dinky backpacker guitars. I ended up selling it to my brother Adam but within a week the guitar cracked all on its own. Feeling guilty, I started to look for a more durable replacement. A carbon fiber travel guitar was an obvious choice for its durability, but everything was so expensive that I would've had to stop traveling to afford the existing travel guitars! So, with my background in engineering and experience with carbon fiber, I decided to reinvent the travel guitar. With a ton of research, consulting and testing, the first KLOS guitar rose from the depths of its mold. I backpacked with it across Europe and the guitar received such positive feedback that I realized others could benefit as well. Now we can all keep our guitars KLOS wherever we go." –Ian Klosowiak, co-founder of KLOS Guitars

We've spent over a year working on this already and everything is in tune to begin higher production immediately.
Risks and challenges
As you've seen in the video, we already have several prototypes. We’re now implementing our repeatable and efficient manufacturing process to churn out the guitars in bulk. Luckily, we have a diverse team consisting of mechanical, manufacturing engineers, and others to make this happen.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
