Rowan/Scythe Funded! Magical Transformation Time..?! ✨

Posted by Kitfox Games (Creator)
Are you a tornado? Because you keep blowing us away! Rowan the Scythe is funded and will officially be a dateable weapon in Boyfriend Dungeon.

Alright, now for our next stretch goal. Let’s be real, a lot of y’all were thirsty for Sunder’s transformation sequence (made by the amazing Particle Beam!)… so let’s get it for all of them!

At $130k USD (~$170 CAD), we’ll have magical transformations for all our weapons.

Rough sketch --> Completed sequence!
Rough sketch --> Completed sequence!

Particle Beam has said they’ll do a similar treatment for each weapon, if we can afford it. In our dreams, we want each one to be unique, reflecting their personality! So where Isaac/Epee would be more elegant, Seven/Lasersaber might be more dancey… and Dagger should have something to do with painting. It’ll be expensive to go all-out, but worth it, right?

We’ll have to see what we come up with… if we manage to raise enough money. (VIPs will be able to see in-progress shots in our private VIP-only discord channel as they become available!)

But even if we don’t make it… you’re all already the best, and we’re so thrilled to be able to make this silly beautiful game with you.

Why do the stretch goals cost so much???

Stretch goals that add new content or systems aren't easy to calculate and history shows they can absolutely sink a project. Just look at other problematic Kickstarters! It makes me (Tanya) nervous to scope up in ANY way... I've tried to be as safe and conservative as I could with these goals, to help make sure we don't dig ourselves into a hole of debt. Even 1 month for a 5-person team costs an arm and a leg, and what if we make a mistake and it takes a little bit longer than we think? We tried to keep the original goal extremely low, but that's not sustainable for a larger game. I hope that makes sense. Thank you to all of our backers!

I want ____ type of character in the game!

Yes! AaaAaAa! We’re listening to all feedback but trust me -- there’s a lot of you out there who wanna smooch a specific kind of blade/person. As much as we’d love to have your ideal character in there, we are only a team of 5 people! That being said, there are still many more stretch goals lined up… Feel free to join our Discord for discussions!

      A gender neutral scythe cutie that collects animal bones is honestly amazing! Thank you for being inclusive.

      Hey Andrew, I did a quick conversion from USD to CAD and these are roughly what the numbers look like.
      USD -------CAD
      130,000 -- 170,086
      152,000 -- 198,870
      153,000 -- 200,178
      191,000 -- 249,895

      It's really hard to keep track of the stretch goals if you're not in America! The KS app shows the original CAD total and on a browser I see it converted to GBP (but hovering over it gives the CAD amount too).

      Any chance you could show the stretch goal amounts in CAD too so we can clearly see how far (or close) we are, please?

      Looking good

      Woah, nice!

      It makes me really glad to see you acknowledge that stretch goals often cause problems, thanks for spacing yours responsibly!
