Six Months In
A week from today it will have been six months since this Kickstarter project reached it's goal. I thought I’d come to you folks to let you know how things are going and share some exciting news:
Tour - I just returned from a month-long national tour to promote Fear of Swimming. I got to play over fifteen shows in ten states, all without a car and only the clothes and technology that would fit in my backpack. Thanks to the tour, I was able to get my album heard by new people all over the country. If you’re interested, you can read more about it on my blog here: http://kirstenopstad.com/blog
Battleground - The final song from the album – Back to Sleep – is going to be featured on Battleground, a Hulu original show. Check it out! Episode 10 is available starting Tuesday April 17th – watch, leave comments, and share it on Facebook/Twitter. It all helps. Here’s the link: http://www.hulu.com/battleground
Reviews - Since the release in January, I’ve gotten some great reviews & mentions of the album. Fear of Swimming has been mentioned/reviewed inThe Boston Globe, The Metro, AfterEllen.com, The Noise Boston, The Deli New England, Shoestring News, The Drewniverse and SteveSubrizi.com. Homecoming Show - For all of you that are in Boston, please join me for a homecoming show & celebration this upcoming Sunday April 22nd at the Davis Square Theatre at 8pm followed by an official post-show celebration at Saloon. In short, things are going great. The support that originated in this Kickstarter campaign continues to fuel the momentum of the album and my aristic ambitions. Thank you for everything.
