Our campaign has ended but you'll soon be able to pre-order a copy of Brilliant Or BS by visiting our website www.brilliantorbs.com. Stay tuned!
We reached our funding goal thanks to all of our wonderful backers. By pledging and sharing our project, you helped to make Brilliant Or BS a reality. We owe it all to you!
There are two types of successful people. People that know things and people that talk a good game. Brilliant Or BS is a bluffing trivia party game that celebrates both. To win, you’ll need to be a whiz or a real wiseguy.
Earn points for getting the questions right. Earn even more points for convincing the other players that you know the right answer. If you get stumped, fake it! Nothing beats the feeling of getting someone to fall for your complete and utter BS.
This game combines our love for trivia and lying to our friends and family (C’mon...your real life isn’t nearly as interesting as your Instagram). We’ve had fun playing it and we know you'll love it too. That's why we need your help to get it funded.
The money we raise will be used to fulfill the minimum order to print the decks and pay the Kickstarter and Amazon fees. If we surpass our goal we can add game changing items like score pads and rigid box covers. Raise your hand if you love those tiny pencils!
There are six different categories of trivia including Sports, Entertainment, Food & Drink, Science & Technology, Geography and History.
Players take turns being the Judge by reading one yellow question card and the three multiple choice answers.
The other players have 10 seconds to respond by placing one of their A-B-C answer cards face down.
Starting with the player to the Judge’s left and going clockwise, each player tries to convince the Judge that they got the question right without saying the answer. They must come up with a convincing explanation as to how or why they know the correct answer...even if they don’t. Let the BS begin!
The Judge may interrogate the other players if necessary and trash talking is always encouraged. After everyone pleads their case, the Judge grabs the two black cards and gives the Brilliant card to the person they think got the question right and the BS card to the person they think got it wrong.
If you're one of the players answering the question, your goal is to persuade the Judge to give you the Brilliant card. If you're the judge, your goal is to figure out which player actually knows the answer and who's just faking it.
There's only one of each card so the Judge better be sure. The player that receives the Brilliant card automatically earns 2 points and the player who receives the BS card earns 0 points.
The Judge announces the correct answer (highlighted in bold) before asking the other players to reveal their cards. The players who did NOT receive a Brilliant or BS card go first, followed by the player who received the BS card. The person who received the Brilliant card reveals their answer last. Each player that gets the question right earns 1 point.
The Judge receives 1 point for each correct Brilliant prediction and 1 point for each correct BS prediction. But beware. For each wrong prediction, the Judge loses 1 point.
Once all points are tallied, the player to the Judge’s left reads a different question card to kick off the next round. Play continues until each person has had the chance to be the Judge the same number of times. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. (Suggested length of game play is 1 hour.)
**As the Judge, what happens if you think everyone got the question right? Give the Brilliant card to the player whose explanation you believe the most and hold on to the BS card. If everyone answers correctly, you earn 2 points. But if anyone gets the question wrong, you lose 2 points.
Same rules apply if you think everyone got the question wrong. Give the BS card to the player whose explanation you believe the least and hold on to the Brilliant card. If everyone answers incorrectly you earn 2 points but if anyone gets it right, you lose 2 points**
Brilliant or BS is the brainchild of me! Kimelia Weathers, youngest daughter of legendary film star Carl Weathers better known as “Apollo Creed.” Okay I was totally BSing there. I don’t know him. The truth is I’m a challenge producer by trade. I develop clever, intense and sometimes silly mental and physical challenges for TV game shows. Now I know that sounds like BS but it’s a real job. I’ve worked on a few shows you may know including “Project Runway,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” and “Ultimate Beastmaster.” In other words, I get paid to come up with fun stuff for a living. I even have my own IMDb page!
Over the past several months, I’ve worked long and hard to develop this trivia game. I’ve enlisted my closest friends to test it out and perfect the gameplay. We've shared many laughs listening to each other’s brilliant and often ridiculous explanations. Bringing people together to have a good time is my passion. That’s why I’m excited to share this game with the world.
Every little bit helps so thank you for chipping in and believing in our project. Your support means the world. I'm a hugger. Bring it in!

Risks and challenges
We’ve already developed the first group of trivia and are always adding new questions to the deck. Now our biggest priority will be getting the cards printed and delivered to you in a timely manner. We’re working with a well established board game printer to ensure you receive the game on time and as promised.
Our main concern will be making sure the quality of the cards meets our standards. We want to be confident that the game you receive is as professional as anything you would buy at a major retailer. We don’t anticipate any production delays but if we do run into a snafu, we promise to keep you informed and updated. In the meantime, practice your poker face and fine tune your BS detector.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
