Hey folks! Just a quick update to tell you what we're up to.

PCB Production

We visited the PCB assembler a few weeks ago and saw and tested the very first board coming off the line. We spent a few hours on-site inspecting and testing the board to make sure there were no mistakes with the parts placement. Here are few glimpses into the process:

 PHENOL Assembly and Testing

We're working out the details for final unit assembly. Although much of the high-tech stuff is outsourced, we have always handled final assembly and testing in-house. PHENOL is a lot more complicated than a synth module, so it's important to have a procedure that tests everything repeatably. We're working on a computer-based testing system that ensures each PHENOL gets the same thourough testing.

We hope to be moving on to final assembly and packaging shortly so that we can meet our June delivery goal! Here is a picture of some finished PHENOLs.

 PHENOL Manual is Now Online!

We are very happy to report that the PHENOL manual is now online for your reading pleasure! Please let us know by email if you find anything that can be improved. We purposely do not make printed manuals anymore so that we can include audio and video content and update it frequently when we get suggestions from you!

In addition to the text version we have just launched nine short videos, each covering a different section of the synth. This should give you some ideas about how to get started if you are completely new to patchable synthesis! And for those who are more experienced, hopefully you'll enjoy watching them also.

Here is the link to the manual and videos!

Hi Oscar, we plan to have extras for sale, yes!

Can those of us picking up units locally in Toronto purchase extra banana jacks at the time of pick up - thinking I would want an extra 10-12 to go along with the 8 supplied with Phenol ?
