Hot off the presses!

This week we visited a few of our manufacturing partners to see how things are progressing. We are happy to be making PHENOL almost entirely in North America. Of course parts come from far and wide, but the enclosures, PCB assembly and our own assembly and testing is all happening in and around Toronto Canada.

Here is a shot of the last checks of our kit of parts before they go off to the PCB assembler. In these last few years it's becoming harder to get large quantities of parts quickly. A lot of things had to be placed on backorder... but it's finally all here!

We went to the sheet metal manufacturer who is making PHENOL enclosures to see how everything is looking. The finish looks really nice, and in fact the quality of their screen printing is better than the prototype. Below is a sample... the rest are waiting to be finished and packed to ship to us.

And finally... I know you have all been waiting to find out more about the PHENOL mini sequencer! I've put the finishing touches on the code and last night we put together a little video explaining how it works. Enjoy!

      Hi Dan,

Because the CV/gate output is monophonic, overdubbing might not be all that useful. I'll definitely consider it for a future project, but the choice of step or real-time recording on PHENOL offers a great deal of flexibility, and only needs two buttons to operate. I really hope you all find cool ways to use it in your music! :)

      Hi Patrick,

really looking forward to get my hands on the phenol..as i saw the new video i thought it would be very cool to have an overdub-recording-mode, so we could do little melodical build ups...
the non-quantizied recording mode is awesome!

Regarding a rack mounting kit... I'm going to do a survey after PHENOL is shipping and find out who would want a rack-mount kit. If there is enough demand we'll price it out and take orders for it.

I absolutely love the fact that it can record the length of the notes along with the pitch bend. That makes the mini sequencer so much more worthy! Thank you :)
