“CRUCIFIX EXECUTIONER” BY KILLER COMICS
Killer Comics is pleased to present this opportunity to buy into the first very limited print run of the initial five-part origin series of the Crucifix Executioner franchise. This first print run will be limited to Kickstarter only! Depending on which offer you take you will have the limited opportunity to receive this five part origin story as either five individual issues or as one trade paperback. This is a rare opportunity to secure your comics early in this franchise.
WHY KICK STARTER
Why Kickstarter? Because we have three graphic novels of completed story and art - we just need to get it to you without a middleman watering the content down and raising the cost. Killer comics has decided to use Kickstarter as a distribution platform for one very big reason. Independence. Independence means we can deliver edgy ideas and graphic content unmolested by the need to appeal to the consuming masses. Killer comics lets the story decide the content not some conservative accountant trying to break into children’s books. This ethos basically means we need your help, and for this, you will be rewarded. One of the advantages of a Kickstarter release is the concept of presales. Once our funding goals and even stretch goals are reached we will know the exact number of comics needed. We can then use these figures to produce a first print run with numbers only allowing availability to Kickstarter pledgers. That’s right, the only way to get a first run print is to pledge. This means there will be no excess copies in existence sitting on the dusty shelves of comic book stores, convention tables or storage lockers; devaluing your precious copy.
Although this Kickstarter is only for the first five issues or the trade paper back “Vol 1”, which is a compilation of said issues, the franchise has another two volumes already drawn and coloured, awaiting a prompt and staggered release. So rest assured the story will continue in a long format with its initial story arc ending with Vol 3.
LIMITED OFFER ACT NOW
This offer is limited. Although you may be able to purchase stories from the franchise anytime, you will not be able to get another copy from this run ever again.
LIMITED EDITION COVERS
All single issues from this run will have limited edition cover art (USA/CAN), this limited cover art will not be made available for future cover releases. The graphic novel Vol 1 will have a uniquely coloured title font.

Born in Germany in 1982 Björn Barends grew up in Hamminkeln Germany. His passion for art began at a young age and has been obsessed with the creation of the macabre, the weird and the monstrous. Barends was given the opportunity to study on the IBKK in Bochum (Germany) and on the Artez in Zwolle (Netherlands) several years. This set his foundation as an artist and throughout his early years as he focused primarily on indian Inc and watercolors. After many years of painting in Inc and watercolors, Barends moved forward, experimenting with digital mediums. This pushed him to expand his horizons and tap into new areas of painting he had not yet explored. There was an obvious freedom and personal expression with 2D and 3D programms. He was deeply interested in the effects of color, texture and the emotional response to strong composition and dark design. By creating something that told a story. At age thirty, Barends began working full-time as a commercial illustrator and freelance art instructor. And he entered the field of fantastic, scifi and dark art he had always loved. He has since gone on to lend his vision to the creative industries, from novels, games and comics.
