But don't worry, you don't need to know anything about these comics to enjoy Legendary Showdown. Just know this - these comics are wonderful. How to play the game that will... change your life
Each player is dealt a total of five characters from the worlds of Girl Genius and Gunnerkrigg Court. These characters line up in anticipation for their chance to battle. During the round, you try to equip characters in your line with powerful weapons and bonuses while equipping characters in other players’ lines with faulty or otherwise terrible equipment. You can also give yourself secret advantages or sabotage your opponents. When the round ends, the characters at the front of each line will engage in a (legendary) showdown. But the madness doesn’t stop there! You can rearrange your line and the lines of your opponents to change who will be competing in the final battle. The round suddenly ends when all players but one (the poor chap) are ready to fight. At that point, each player reveals his or her battle strategy and the winner is decided. See what people have to say about the original Legendary Showdown!
I have been a fan of tabletop games for quite a long time. So while I could compare it to other games, I could see that this game had some killer new gameplay elements to make this a fun game. This has become one of my go-to games for introducing people to tabletop games. My coworker who has never played any tabletop games before has become obsessed and often will give up other opportunities to play Legendary Showdown. I've never seen a game do this before in all my many years introducing people to tabletop games. He was bummed when he couldn't get a copy for himself, so much so that when the webstore finally opened, he bought 3 copies; one for himself and two as gifts. Get the game, you'll love it.
If you like cards, and if you like games, you should check this out. It combines both cards and games flawlessly to make what I am calling a "card game." Legendary Showdown's gameplay is not entirely new. It plays kind "War" with buffs and debuffs thrown into the mix, but the quality of the art and cards themselves is outstanding, and the outlandish elements of the webcomic lend themselves nicely to card game form. It's now my go-to geek game.

Very easy to learn, can be played pretty quickly, and is accessible even to those who haven't read the comic. The cards are hilarious, the artwork is beautiful, I can't recommend it enough.
A great game with good playability, fun art, and enough laughs to make it truly enjoyable, even if you are playing with grumpy people.
The game is a blast and is one of the few party games I can pull out and I know everyone will love.
Risks and challenges
The vast majority of the work is finished, and prototypes have been completed and approved for most rewards. Manufacturers are standing by. At this point, there are very few things that could stand in the way of successful delivery. Only catastrophic events such as the following could really hamper game production:
1. A slaver wasp infestation.
2. A fleet of airships attacking our company headquarters.
3. A boxbot rebellion. Well, actually... that might help.
Seriously though, we have game manufacturing experience, the support of Girl Genius and Gunnerkrigg Court, and a doomsday shelter stocked with a year’s supply of Lucky Charms. Barring any extreme apocalyptic events, these games will be made and delivered.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
