Bike commuting in a tight schedule
Commuting to work in a bike is truly amazing, is better for your health, you are more connected to nature and you help the planet, in the last 10 years in the USA alone, bike commuting has increased a minimun of 60%.
That number should increase if we deal with the details that make bike riding in a tight schedule less pleasurable, one of those being:
"wondering what will be waiting for you or your clothes in the saddle that morning"
either way if you rent/share or own your bike, saddles get exposed to the elements,
I learned by experience that the solutions out there are ok but could be improved so i put my UX knowledge to use and try to get a solution to fit my needs.
Journey to a Better Saddle Cover
Independently if you use always the same bike or take part of a bike sharing system, We took the aproach of making a portable saddle cover to be carry by the user instead of being left with the bike, then dealing with the most common complain "I Lost my saddle cover".
Colors and Rewards
What are the funds for
Basically, the funds will aim to fullfill the minimum order quantity that the production partner request, we have some stretch goals like 2 extra colors that can be available after €5.000 and a micro version of the product that could be developed when the campaign reaches €10.000.
Risks and challenges
When making something from scratch there are unforeseen risks, but so far we have material, production and shipping under reasonable control, production will take place in China, just after festivities of Chinese new year and shipping should be arriving in The Netherlands for redistribution first week of March.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
