Story
Ordinary is a television show following the life of recently ordained priest, Fr David Anderson, and his parish in the heart of Amish Country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The series will follow him as he learns the ropes of managing parochial life while also seeing how the weekly Scriptures and the liturgical season illuminate his life and the lives of those he shepherds. This series will deal with current issues facing the modern Catholic, as well as those issues unique to a priest in his own vocation.
Details
The show will consist of 10 episodes, 20-30 minutes each, released bi-weekly beginning December 1st and finishing March 30th. They will be available to stream through our website. The mission of this show is to bring to both Catholics and non-Catholics an entertainment that enlightens on Church teaching, the liturgical year, the many functions within a parish and most importantly, the vocation of the priesthood.

A New Ministry
Our production is working to involve as many parishes within the Diocese of Harrisburg as we can. This is a chance for the diocese, and the wider Catholic community, to be involved in a new kind of ministry that will reach out to Catholics around the nation and further. While the Church has had a long history of sponsorship of the arts, it has been mostly lacking in our present age. Video production is a realm that the Church laity has not been very involved in, although the Church has applauded beautiful works of film and video and called upon more of them. This project is to realize this calling.

Small is Beautiful
The production value will correlate with the funds we receive. If this project were to raise $50,000, the show would look far different than if it made $10,000, which would look different than if it made just the minimum of $3,000. Whatever God wills, He will provide for. While we may enjoy the huge expensive productions of Broadway, we also cherish the small productions of community theater. And while we may enjoy the huge spectacle of Hollywood's summer blockbusters, surely there can be a place for cherishing the small video productions of our community. Big may be spectacular, but small is beautiful. We can't know until we see the response what kind of project God is calling this to be, but we are open to whatever His will allows.

Finances
While movies have admission prices, television has always been different. This show will be free to view by absolutely everyone. But the reality remains that video productions still cost money. So consider this a "pay what you will" campaign. If you would like to see this show, and see more in the future, consider a financial contribution to the project! $3,000 is the minimum amount needed to make this project work. Expenses primarily involve props, catering, transportation and equipment. If we do not receive at least that much by the deadline, we will receive nothing. Please consider donating even just 5 dollars to our project, and you will be offered up in prayer before every shoot! Everyone involved has offered their time and talent freely in an effort to promote the mission of Christ's Church, and none of us are receiving any financial compensation for our work.
If you cannot contribute financially to Ordinary, we ask that you please contribute by keeping the production in your prayers. We are responding to a calling and are working very hard to follow God's will and carry out His mission.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them below. God bless!
