We are a small custom shop located in Maryland. We love creating and designing premium and innovative gear that functions as well as it looks. Strength and durability are paramount in all of our products and our gear is 100% made in the USA.
Not many products have been re-imagined to make full use of carbon fiber's unique properties, premium look, lasting durability and strength. The Carbonlite™ wallet is just one of several concepts we have been working on. If successful we can continue designing and creating more products like this.

Materials and Design:
Carbon Fiber is five times stronger than steel and only one third its weight! It is often used in aerospace and aviation, civil engineering, military, high performance racing applications and anywhere strength, durability, and weight are important factors.
We use a premium aerospace grade 6k 2x2 weave instead of the standard 3k 1x1. All of our carbon fiber has a smooth, durable, mirror-like finish and a deep three-dimensional luster that shifts with the light. Pictures just don't do it justice...
Taking full advantage of carbon fibers unique properties we have effectively designed and created a money clip that can hold cash without any additional weight, bulk, or bolt on pieces. This one piece design is the first of its kind and it lies very flat compared to traditional money clips. It holds a single bill or well over 8 if you just fold the bills into halves. It works so well because carbon fiber will flex under load but not remain permanently bent like a flat sheet of metal would, this means it will always spring back to the original flat position and clamp down on cash once pressure is released. Its quick, easy, and secure.
RFID shields- The financial industrial complex is currently phasing out magnetic strips on debit and credit cards in favor of RF(Radio Frequency) enabled cards by 2015. This type of card is prone to "Skimming" or wireless credit and identity theft. Thieves can use a cheap RFID reader, which downloads your card information. From there, it can be copied to a blank card that essentially becomes a "clone" of your card. Now they have your credit card and you usually have no idea its been compromised until its too late.
Our optional RFID blocking plates are made from 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. They look really nice too even if you don't have RF enabled cards, yet.
After extensive testing we chose not to use spandex bands or straps. Instead to get the proper tension, we use industrial grade EPDM O-rings that are very durable and can securely hold one card or over ten. Utilizing these keeps the design minimal, secure and flexible.
In the rare event that a band breaks, our design is still very secure because there would be 5 remaining bands. The wallet actually only needs a minimum of 2 bands, one on each side to function correctly.
Each Carbonlite™ comes with an extra set. We cover them with a 1 year no hassle warranty if any break within the first year. You can also order packs of 10 in various colors directly from us.
Traditional wallets and back pain:
A bulky wallet in your back pocket un-levels your pelvis. It's a very real problem and causes your spine to fall out of alignment. Abnormal stress and strain in your spine then affects your muscular and nervous system. It can cause back and neck pain, sciatica, headaches and more. If your suffering from some of these symptoms read up on Piriformis syndrome and consider carrying a wallet in your front pocket.
Our plate designs are precision CNC machined by our partner in Washington state, these guys specialize in making and cutting aerospace grade carbon fiber. This helps to support other American companies and ensures the quality and consistency we expect when having our designs cut.
We also partner with a facility out of California for our RFID plates. They specialize in laser cutting thin metals like our .02 inch thick RFID shields.
We then permanently bond the Carbon fiber to RFID shields by hand here in Maryland. After the plates have cured, we sand and polish the edges of each wallet, even those without RFID shields. Finally we inspect each wallet individually and put on a set of O-rings before packaging.

We Need your support:
We have so many ideas for awesome, innovative gear but buying and CNC machining aerospace-grade materials is very expensive so were starting out with the Carbonlite™ first. Instead of making very small batches we are hoping to have enough support from Kickstarter to buy materials in bulk and have large quantities finished at a single time. This will drive our costs down and enable our backers to get a premium product at a great value and allow us to continue designing more gear and grow the company. We will be forever grateful for any support you can offer even if its just spreading the word!
A Look Back:
The basic idea began to take shape after months of thinking of a way to make the ultimate minimal wallet. We didn't have all the proper materials on hand but we had a workshop and plenty of tools. We were anxious to start so we tested the overall idea with some old wood we cut into a rectangle and cut slats into each side. This allowed O-rings to attach directly to the plates without any other parts. We then added a thumb slot to enable quick access to cards.
Next, we designed and created a money clip that can hold cash without any additional weight, bulk, or bolt on pieces. This one piece design is the first of its kind and it lies very flat compared to traditional money clips. It holds a single bill or well over 8 if you just fold the bills into halves.
After many handmade prototypes we narrowed the designs down and had a 3D CAD drawing finished up. We were now able to have our design cut quickly and precisely by a CNC machine. After a couple more months of tweaking prototypes with the CNC machine we had our final design.
Once our goal is met we will put a deposit down so our materials can be cut. As soon as funds clear we can have the parts shipped to us immediately. This means we can begin shipping your Rewards 2 weeks after funds clear.
Risks and challenges
We have been refining and testing our wallet for months and are very confident in the design. We don't foresee any changes that need to be made, but if we can improve the design it may have very minor changes made before we ship.
We have been working with our partners for months now and have always had excellent communication.Parts or services were always on time.
