Keyando is the perfect card game for any get-together with family and friends who like to get known each other in a funny new way.
KEYANDO - The Hilarious Card Game Where Your Opinions and Stories Count!
The Keyando cards represent the essential Keys to Happiness which were determined by the happiness research. You can play the cards by telling stories, challenging others by asking them whatever you like, or simply play strategic.
Each round is filled with vivid discussions about what really matters in life. Keyando is perfect for any get-together with family, friends, or workmates who like to get known each other in an entertaining new way.
You can use the Keyando cards for other family games like Concentration, Hanafuda, and Kemps as well, and even for Life Coaching.
Keyando - The Game of Happiness - is a highly group dynamic card game with laughing and shouting in vivid discussions on marvelous things like angels, vampires, happiness, challenges of all kinds, and much more exciting things. In the game we easily warm up and get closer to the other players in different ways. If you like the games Dixit, or Truth or Dare you will LOVE Keyando.
Keyando is the world's first game that is based on results of the most recent international studies on happiness which can be found in the famous "World Book of Happiness" and other publications. The Keyando cards represent the most essential keys to happiness which were determined by the happiness research. There are the 46 happiness cards, ranging from love, to adventure and everything in between, and 3 (sometimes fallen) angels and 3 vampires which stand for the dark side of life and will do or represent whatever you want...
The game is designed for 3 to 6 players. Learning the game takes 10 minutes, and playing it takes anywhere between 30 and 90 minutes.
At the beginning of the game, each players gets 5 cards. The remaining cards are shuffled and placed in a stack. Going clockwise, the player next to the dealer starts the game.
WHEN IT'S YOUR TURN YOU HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:
For example, when you play the “Challenge” card, you could ask: “What means this card to you?”, or more specific: “What was your biggest challenge?” Your imagination is your only limit here. Especially when you play an angel or vampire card which can represent whatever you like, and allows you to ask whatever you want.
If you are satisfied with the answer, your card stays on the table and the player asked plays next as a reward. If the answer is refused the player asked has to draw a card from the stack and you must withdraw your card.
For example, when you play the card recognition, trust or friendship, you can describe a situation where it was evident or in which it was useful (e.g. launching a company, relationship, solving a problem) or just describe why this key to happiness is most important to you (without mentioning which key it is). Then all co-players can lay down a card face down as well if they think it corresponds to the situation or the explanation from the telling player. When everyone has played the cards they want, the cards are turned and the discussions starts to find out what cards are most appropriate and what cards should be rejected with a simple majority decision. A player whose card is declined must take it back and gets another card from the stack. All players who have played their card successfully, leave them open on the table.
It is possible to lay down several matching cards at once. If winning is one of your keys to happiness this might be a good way to go.
THAT'S IT! MORE OR LESS. THERE ARE SOME MORE THINGS TO CONSIDER.
When it’s getting out of hand or when someone is just about to win you can use an angel or vampire at anytime, and then the next player clockwise will be on!
Important: If you interrupt a turn all cards played in that turn have to be taken back. Most likely some co-players will not be happy about that …
Dynamics and Strategies
Part of the fun is to device your own strategy in this highly dynamic game. No game will be the same, so it will keep you on your toes.
However, if you forget to shout "Keyando!" at the end, you have to take back your last card (or cards) and you get an additional card from the stack! Yikes!
Hanafuda is a card game with a very long tradition in Japan and Korea. There are twelve suits of four cards which represent all twelve months. Each month is designated with a flower or a tree.
Each card has a certain point value which is determined by certain combinations of cards and cards elements like for example a ribbon, a crane, or the moon. Note you can also play the different variations to Hanafuda with the cards (including Koi-Koi, Hachi-Hachi, Mushi, Sudaoshi, Tensho and Go-Stop).
Number of players: 2 or more
Goal: Accumulate more points than the opponent. Either a set number of rounds is played, a point goal is set, or players try to get many more points than their opponent. The complete Hanafuda rules are explained in the Keyando book.
Here you can see some examples of the cards of the different months:
Kemps is a card game that originated in Brazil. It's also called Kent, Signal, Cash, Gumpsh, Camps, Canes, Cirkus, Kotte, Tecknet, Twa, Campers, Squares, Jabers, Peanut Butter, Mujumbo or Dadgum.
Number of players: 2 to 6 teams of two players each
Goal: Get four of a kind (i.e. four cards of the same month) and then covertly signal your partner. The partner must yell "Kemps" to score. The complete rules are explained in the Keyando Book.
Within concentration, all the cards are laid face down on a surface and you flip two cards face up in every turn.
Number of players: 2 to 4
Goal: Turn over pairs of matching cards of a month. The player with the most matching pairs at the end wins. The complete Concentration rules are explained in the Keyando Book.
All the cards together make one large jigsaw puzzle. You'll be able to see the patterns emerge once you're playing and you'll see the bigger picture.
The 46 different keys to happiness were extracted out of the different international studies on happiness, and the Keyando cards represent these different keys. These happiness cards include keys such as: commitment, creativity, freedom, friendship, learning, love, recognition, and many more.
As the cards represent all the essential keys to happiness, they can also be used for Life Coaching (with a coach, or in self coaching). The cards can be used in different ways, for example for goal setting, team building or the Wheel of Life which represents the different areas of life.
You will easily be able to tap into your emotions, goals and drivers for happiness in an intuitive way. The Keyando cards help us find and clarify our individual keys to happiness and show us how we can integrate them into our lives to achieve our goals, greater happiness, more balance or more satisfaction for ourselves and others. The Keyando book contains more details on how to use the cards for coaching purposes.

Risks and challenges
We've kept the project simple for a reason, we want to make sure we can deliver on time! We're partnering with a major printing and logistics company, to ensure we can handle the demand even if we receive even more pledges than expected.
We specifically didn't add T-shirts or other items to prevent any delays, as we want to put Keyando in your hands as soon as possible!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
