Another fine example of the fraud that Ken Whitman is.

We had more buttons put on 4 total and we adding some BUMPS on the floor to make the dice move unsorted of spin!

Got mine from EBay for $10 free shipping. It came with the stretch goal items. Only 1 button but I can live with that.

    4. Joe Kirby on July 17, 2014

This is bummer. I was getting these as gifts for our group. Can't afford to buy 100 to get the 6 I wanted. Are you going to offer these at your online store?

Just wait... THERE'S MORE! if we make our stretch goals, we'll throw in the hard shell cover and the dice that come with the machine from china ABSOLUTELY FREE!

Also, it has 4 buttons and the dome was removeable.

Hey Guys, We did have the unit modified. Sorry Kickstarter did not get to see the modification or warrant them large enough to so it as KICKSTART-ERY. Take care.

Super disappointed to have been intentionally mislead this way. Glad for Adam's catch of this in the post below, and that the Kickstarter.com staff suspended the project. Even the "stretch goal" was included with the real product by default. You should have just been honest up front; I still want one of these, but not from Ken Whitman Games.

    8. Wes Johnson on July 15, 2014

Great catch Adam, I think this probably warranted that this was suspended. That doesn't discount it is a great product idea, just it is already a product... which is kind un-kickstarty,

Thanks Adam for pointing that out.

Sorry to see this get canceled. I hope you can get everything worked out. I was really looking forward to this.

Hey Adam, This is the unit we modified from china. And they did not have a removable glass bubble, or 4 buttons. You may purchase them without the dice and top--- much cheaper. If you purchase 100 or them. i appreciate your concern in your quest to bring new quality product to the market. :-)

This appears to be: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Automatic-Dice-Cup-Electronic-Dice-Cup_1807748960.html - it has 4 buttons and everything.
It even includes the hard cover "stretch goal".

At $5.32 a piece for a 100 piece order, it's still a reasonably good deal on a group by but I think an explanation is owed as to how much "modification" was done for tabletop gaming.

Thanks guys, look forward to getting these to you!

One other thing (contructive design note)... in a perfect world, the inner edge of the dome or the platform ring would have little nubs or 'ramps' to make the dice jump around more during the spin. Just my 2 cents.

About 10 years ago i showed my gaming group an old Pop-o-matic bubble and said that if they made polyhedral Pop-o-matic bubbles i would buy them. Well, since i can put whatever dice i want in here, it looks like you get my money!

Happy to be a part of this fun little project, and it good to see it doing so well... Soooooo... at how about a stretch goal to upgrade the 5d6 to a set of polyhedrals! 8D

@Brian - It sounded like from the front page that the devices are already produced and waiting in China to be shipped. So getting different felt may be a no go.

What about the possibility of different felt colors for the base on the Dice O'Matic @Ken

Oh, and for the country, I picked Australia, figuring it's about as far away as you can get from the U.S.

      2 Double A

    22. Cliff Wiggs on July 2, 2014

      What batteries does it take?

    23. Ken Whitman Games 2-time creator on July 2, 2014

      Q. Why is international shipping so much.

      A. The USPS (United States Postal Service) no longer has an option to go by land/ship. Everything MUST go priority mail. The "good news" is I can put several in a box. For ever person you can get to purchase one from you, the shipping is cut in half. We can fit up to 10 in a box--- therefore, shipping can be as low as $6 per unit.

You can purchase additional Dice O'Matics for $20 each using the ADD-ONs section (max 10).

@Andrew - I got my copy of Knights Quest , so I am sure yours will be there soon.

    25. Ken Whitman Games 2-time creator on July 2, 2014

Hi Andrew, All international orders have shipped out as of yesterday and can take up to two weeks for you to get them. Take care.

    26. Andrew Cousins on July 2, 2014

It's quite ironic that you tag this as the "Cheater defeater" when you seem to be happy to cheat your Knights Quest backers out of their money.
