Sorry for the lack of updates folks, but here's where our movie is at...
After getting some more feedback on the movie we decided to change some things around and shorten it, particularly in the beginning and end of the movie. As a result the movie is 19 minutes shorter, giving our film a pace that doesn't let up, and a much more reasonable runtime (1hr 32min). It was tough to let go of some scenes, but this runtime services the story SO much better, and has really improved the movie. If you are a backer, you can see the new, final version of The Hands You Shake on the same Vimeo link you received as a backer.
The bad part about this is that we already have the Kickstarter DVDs here with the previous cut of the movie burned onto them. So now these DVDs and their labels are useless, and Chris and I will need to order 200 more copies, paying for it out of pocket. I just need to finish updating the special features (more deleted scenes now!), and send off for the new DVDs. I apologize for the wait, but we want to make sure everyone gets a DVD in the mail that they can be proud to say they made possible.
In other news, we'll be sending the new cut out to a bunch of film festivals now, starting with the following fests over the next couple of months -
LA Comedy - SoCal Independent - Deadcenter - San Diego - Little Rock - Fantasia - Hoboken International - LA - San Antonio - Studio City - Beverly Hills - Fantastic Fest - Manhattan - Santa Monica - Brooklyn - Oregon Independent - Burbank - Chicago International - Frozen - Woodstock - Austin - Raindance
Keep your fingers crossed!
