We made it!! A huge thanks goes out to everyone who has donated -- it has been a crazy month-long journey. Although we are over our goal, there it still a little time left to donate if you would like to show your support or get your copy of the film. Every extra dollar is going straight into this movie, and will directly improve the finished film. We cannot wait to shoot this amazing movie!
What's the movie about?
The Entitled is a feature length comedy/thriller that we'll be shooting this summer (with your help).
The movie is about what happens when two criminals misplace $1.5 million of dirty money, which is found by three college grads on their first night in the real world. With every character feeling the crunch of the economic recession, and also feeling entitled to the money, the graduates are soon plunged into the worst night of their lives as they struggle to hold on to their fortune. Other parties intervene and the competition increases, turning Los Angeles into a living nightmare.
Oh, and it's funny... very funny, in fact!
In the end, The Entitled is a movie about success, and the lengths we must go to achieve it in our current economy.
This is definitely the fastest, funniest, smartest screenplay we have written, and it features a crazy blend of comedy, thrills, horror, and drama. We wrote it in a way so that you will not be able to turn off the movie after watching the first couple of minutes. It hooks you in and doesn't let you go until the final scene.
One thing is for sure, the movie will not be mediocre. Our attitude is: Let's either make a massive failure, or an original movie that audiences will remember. We have no interest in making something that's already been seen a hundred times before.
Okay, how can I help?
Here's the deal: we have three drafts (so far) of an excellent script, seven amazing actors already cast, some key locations scouted out, directing work well underway, our pick of a talented litter of crew members, and a full budget typed out. But before we can start making any serious moves, we have to have the money in place.
Nobody working on this movie is getting paid upfront; this is a passion project for everyone involved. However, passion can't pay for microphone and lens rentals, props, lights, wardrobe, set design, and the many other expenses that come with creating a world on the big screen. We've been self-funding our movies since sixth grade, but this time, we need your help.
The goal of this campaign is to raise $11,500 to make the movie. This is the bare minimum that we can create The Entitled for (while maintaining the level of quality it deserves). Every dollar is going straight into the film. If we exceed our goal amount, the movie will directly improve as a result.
However, if we do not succeed in raising $11,500 by April 8th, we do not receive ANY of the money pledged up to that point. Your credit/debit card never gets charged, and the movie never gets made. This would be extremely unfortunate, that's why we need your help!
Look to your right to see the excellent rewards we're offering you for participating in The Entitled's creation! The more you pledge, the cooler the rewards!
The movie will be sent to film fests for a period of at least a year, and DVDs won't be available during that time, so I highly recommend you at least donate enough to get to watch the movie when it's done! Unlike our last feature, this one will not be free to watch when it's complete. So, if you want to watch the movie, you'll have to pay either way, but this way you'll get to watch it a year early AND get your name in the credits!
The more you can contribute the better, but we realize that times are tough (hey, that's what the movie's about). You can still support us! Share this link on your Facebook, Twitter, blog, or website; email your friends and family, show them the video, and get them excited! The more people that see this, the better our chances for hitting our goal and making an amazing film!
