Hello my friends, family, supporters and Kickstarters,
David was the most brilliant, amazing and loyal friend to many. I want this to be the beginning of a collection of David's work and I hope to add to these short films as a celebration of David's genius. I will forever regret not pushing David to make these himself, but I'm so grateful I still have them, since most were written about ten years ago when David and I lived together in Salt Lake City. David was an accomplished actor, musician, and producer, he was also the most generous person I know -- often opting to help facilitate the creative pursuits of his friends over his own. We all miss him so very much. My hope is that those who never had the good fortune to meet David will at least get to know him through all that he left behind, and for those who did know him to have an opportunity to share in his vision. I hope this project does him proud!
Depending on how much we raise for production, I hope to make two to three (or hopefully more!) of the short films David wrote and put them out in the world for everyone to enjoy.
The first short film will be produced in Victoria, Texas, during the Victoria TX Independent Film Festival. The director of the festival, Anthony Pedone, has been so kind as to offer up gear and housing for our cast and crew! It will star David's brother, musician Scott Fetzer (from the SF band Farallons), Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous, Wristcutters, Saved), as well as Ashly Burch (Hey Ash Whatcha Playin?, Must Come Down). I'm excited to work with the people David held close, and to see his writing come to life in a collaborative way. The films will be screened in December 2013 for the anniversary of David's birth and death and the inauguration of the David Ross Fetzer Foundation for the Arts.

David also wrote an awesome existential comic strip called Overman and the Void: http://overmanandthevoid.blogspot.com/ it'll gives an insight into his David-ness.
If you would like to see David's lovely performance in the last project we Kickstarted, you can find it here: www.mustcomedownmovie.com or stream it on Distrify.
Or if you want to see David, being very David, watch our last Kickstarter video: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kennyriches/must-come-down-a-feature-length-film
I'll be creating a website to post more of David's videos, music and projects, so please check back!
Thank you for your support!
Risks and challenges
The main expenses of this project will be paying for cast, crew, travel, and post-production. Many people have stepped forward and expressed their desire to volunteer their time and equipment, so I hope that we can really make good use of these funds.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
