We are Keely Blaze and the Boys, a groovy new-age alternative pop band from New York. We have been working endlessly to establish our sound as ‘the sound’ of NYC hot spots, and beyond. However, in order to commence our world domination, we must have something that convinces people of our worth, something that allows them to entrust us with the task of leading them into this new music scene of the 21st century. We all sat down and decided that a CD might be a good start, and so as we were given a massive opportunity to record with some of the best in today’s industry, we just finished recording our first EP in Raleigh, NC. This EP will be the start of it all, as we look to reach a record number of people with our tunes.
We truly believe in our sound, are feverously passionate about what we do, and are very excited to take this next step into our hopefully bright and successful future. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the cost of recording, and it is important to note that this is all-or-nothing funding, so if we do not meet this goal, we don't get anything! Let's do our best, folks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Here’s a nice bio of our band that an adoring friend has written so that you can all get to know us a little more:
Keely Blaze and the Boys are a New York City-based alt-pop band, led by singer-songwriter Keely Blaze and some very talented boys.
THEN: A New York native, Keely has been cultivating her talents from an early age, blending her passion for guitar with a desire to produce unique, meaningful lyrics and melodies. After graduating from Fordham University with a BA in music, Keely joined forces with bassist Gus Kalin and drummer Jim Boyle to form Keely Blaze and the Boys in 2011. Previously a member of the legendary funk band Casual Sweater Tuesdays, Gus has now brought his bass skills to KB and the Boys along with a deep passion for casual sweaters (although these days, he only wears them on Thursdays). Having studied the drums for years, Jim currently works at D'addario Music, one of the leading musical instrument producers in the country. Despite a year with these two, he affirms that he is still not a hipster.
NOW: KB and the Boys have spent the past year playing various venues across New York City, cementing their sound and introducing their music to hundreds of new listeners. They’re currently working on their first EP, entitled ETC.
NEXT: KB and the Boys are working hard to produce ETC., as they continue to perform around NYC and expand their shows to Philly, DC, and Boston. They view success as connecting with as many people as possible with the music they create, inspiring feelings of nostalgia, happiness, heartbreak, forgiveness, unity, and elation in their listeners, all in the hopes that someone will enjoy their music half as much as Keely’s mom says she does.
*If we exceed our goal, all extra funds will go towards the creation of CD itself, KB & the Boys merchandise and our touring funds account.
Thank you for visiting our page, it means a lot to us, even if you cannot donate!
With Great Prospects,
Keely Blaze and The Boys
